So a typical day would have the hunter rising and eating nuts, berries, veggies or fruit (slow-release carbs that provide continuous energy for the hunt). During the day the hunter could turn to these same items to stave off hunger and keep him fueled for the fight without making him sleepy.
An end of day successful hunt would provide meat and a feast!
And so it basically went for millions of years....
Can you imagine teleporting a caveman raised like that to present day America and letting him eat at your table? What do you think would happen to him when fed your diet of non-stop meat and between meal snacks? Of course he'd get fat as a pig!
We'll the jokes on you. You are that caveman. Your genes and his share over 99% of the same DNA. You body reacts just like his would in todayï¿½s toxic environment.
If I was a caveman you'd better believe that I wouldn't be getting up 3 times a day and chasing down some animal just because its time to eat. My family line probably discovered that plants were edible. I know I would have. When cavewife tried to get me up for the breakfast hunt I'd have snatched the nearest plant ate it, took a couple chews, taste it. Ummmmm, tastes good. I'm not sick. Here baby, eat this and give some to the kids. Wake me up for the next hunt....
See? It doesnï¿½t make sense. It really seems natural that we would only have to hunt and eat meat once a day and really the body is probably adapted to comfortably going without meat for days at a time. Evolution hasnï¿½t adapted us to live in todayï¿½s food world and probably wont for another couple million years. The answer is to eat more like our genetic ancestors if we want improved weight control energy and health.
Heart disease is the #1 killer - 98%+ of those deaths can be attributed to plaque buildups that cause blockages leading to heart attack and stroke. - You were born with clean arteries how did they get so blocked?

Today is the most wonderful day! We have gifts right in front of us and we are ready to grab those gifts and say WAHOO! Look around you at your extraordinary treasures. For my 50th birthday, my nieces gave me a CD by Tim McGraw entitled Live Like You Were Dying. They paid me a wonderful compliment and said, "Aunt Tami, you're the one we think of who is living like you were dying." What a powerful message to me as I blast that song every morning to rev up my energy. Of course, picturing Tim in those tight jeans helps!
Remember I used to live in such deep doo doo with fear and worry. Through daily practice my connection to God becomes clearer--it's corrosion free. It takes practice to transcend fear and putting those daily activities in place to help bring in the positives. Want to have some fun with your inner child? Sticking your tongue out at fear does help. So let's practice. Stick out your tongue and face your fears and shout, "You're not the boss of me." It's kind of hard to have your tongue hanging out while talking but it sure feels good, doesn't it?

To start a successful natural weight loss program you just need the following basic plan:-
1. Eat good healthy home cooked food
Healthy in this case means low in fat, sugar and salt and with plenty of fruit and vegetables, natural whole grains and lean proteins. There are a ton of fantastic healthy and delicious recipes out there that you can use. You'll find them on the internet, in your own cookbooks or you can borrow recipe books from the library. Chances are you've done that both through your choices of food - high in fat and sugar - which bulks up your body without filling you up and also through eating larger portion sizes than you really need of everything. If you've forgotten what a normal portion is, it's best to think of a meal as being about the size of your two clenched fists. Put that much on your plate to start with and see how it feels to eat that much. About right? Stop there. Too little? Have a spoonful more or fill up on salad or vegetables - you can't do much harm with them!
3. Add as much movement into your day as you can
Most weight loss programs have an exercise element. Great though this is in theory, it's where many people give up. It's just too demoralizing when you go red in the face, sweating and heart pounding after a couple of minutes when you're supposed to do twenty! Twenty minutes! You're lucky if you can do five. Why put yourself through this when you're clearly not ready?
The best way to add more movement into your day is by walking. Walk everywhere! It's free! If you can afford it, get a pedometer and measure how much you're doing each day. Aim for 10,000 steps every day when you're trying to lose weight - it's also great to stay at that level once you reach your target - it will help you stay slim.
If you're not fit, check with your doctor and start with a few hundred steps, adding to your total every day. If you don't have a pedometer, keep a note of your progress by counting the number of minutes you walk and get a rough idea of the distance you've covered (for example, one block and two lamp-posts), gradually increasing both as you get fitter. You can walk whatever the weather if you have the right clothes and footwear or you can just walk around your home or the shops - it really doesn't matter as long as you move!
Of course there are more things you can do to lose weight, but these three offer the best start to any weight loss plan. There would be far fewer overweight people in the world if everyone followed these simple and natural steps. Weight loss programs make things complicated because they need to differentiate themselves from each other. They are not just going to tell you the obvious - they have to wrap it up in ratios and percentages, points and calories, rules and regulations until you can't live a normal life and follow them. Free yourself from the latest diet fad and just start by following these steps. Weight loss, though still not as easy as falling off the proverbial log - we know that is just a fantasy - will happen more easily than ever before and in a completely natural way which gives lasting results.

Many times, when one begins a new fat loss regime; they focus on dieting (hopefully intelligent dieting, not fad diets or very low calorie diets) and hopefully an exercise regime. Most of the time, to accomplish fat loss, people seem to believe that aerobic (aka. cardio) training in addition to a moderate reduction in calories is the best course of action to accomplish this. The main goal is to create a caloric deficit through these methods so that the body must use fat stores to make up for the deficit, therefore accomplishing fat loss. However, many times people run into a plateau that is caused by the lowering of the metabolism due to muscle loss because of the new diet and exercise regime. This lowering of the metabolism is known as the starvation response.
During the first phase participants are taught the "Ten Commandments of Weight Loss" that enables them to reach their short-term weight loss goal. After the 6 months milestone, the weight maintenance phase begins, and the healthy habits developed in the first phase are consolidated.
You've experienced this if you've ever tried to lose fat before and eventually, even though you may have tried very hard, you seemed to not be able to lose anymore fat. Aerobic training is the chief way you will burn fat during exercise, and will greatly help to avoid the starvation response compared to changing the diet alone (dieting only, without any exercise will cause it to a much greater degree - but that is the subject for another article - you can find more information by clicking this link about weight loss). However, dieting and training aerobically can still eat away some of your muscle anyway - unless you know what you're doing. When one weight trains in addition to cardio and intelligent dieting, the body signals a response to keep muscle. Because muscle is one of the major factors that dictates your metabolism at rest, keeping muscle will help you to steer clear of the dreaded starvation response.
In my opinion, the weight lifting part of your exercise program should be the core - it is the meat. While aerobic training is like the steak sauce that goes along with your meat. Cardio is not totally necessary, but it will increase your rate of fat loss in comparison to dieting and weight lifting alone. Weight lifting will increase your muscle mass (cardio does not), which increases your resting metabolism, which helps you to create a healthy caloric deficit. One pound of muscle will burn an additional 35 to 50 calories per day. So, simply gaining 4 pounds of muscle is approximately equivalent to walking for an hour each day. Also, during a weight lifting workout, you are burning calories anyway - don't think that lifting weights does not use up your energy.
Another spiffy benefit of weight training is its effect on the body after the workout. This is known as the glowing effect or EPOC - which stands for exercise post oxygen consumption. Essentially, your body must recover from the muscle tears you just imposed upon it, and that requires calories too. One thing that strict dieting and aerobic exercise can do is cause people to lose so much fat and muscle (as stated before), that a skinny, yet unhealthy and unattractive look is created. In the sense of attractiveness, skinny may look better than fat, but when you have a low body fat percentage and also a healthy dose of muscle tone (male or female), you feel and look much more attractive and healthier (the healthier you look, the more attractive you look) to the opposite sex.
It seems that one reason that many women avoid weight training is for fear that they will become "bulky". More than likely, this belief was created after seeing some overly (and sometimes manly) muscular fitness models on T.V. and in magazines. Well, 99% of those women probably take some sort of hormone or steroid compound; otherwise they wouldn't look as manly as they do. They also follow extremely strict diet and training regimes to attain that level of fitness. However, if you are a woman you probably aren't going to be doing or taking the things those people do. Even if you really wanted to, you would have trouble looking like that. Weight training will not do that to you - even if it did, you can easily stop or turn your weight training regime into a maintenance phase. You are in total control of how muscular you want to become.
If you're goal is fat loss, remember to incorporate weight training into your exercise regime along with cardio and intelligent dieting. The combination of these three things is the key to achieving your goals and sculpting your body without hitting plateaus. You have nothing to lose by weight training except the fat.
