When buying a Hoodia product it may be wise to look for the "manufacturer" of the brand for a clue to the quality.

There is a trend of manufacturers having more than one label or brand on the market.

For anyone trying to choose a Hoodia product it is no small feat deciding on a label. There is a plethora of different brands (labels), each with a different spin on there respective product. Knowing the manufacturer of a brand can narrow your choices and make buying easier.

 

A manufacturer will have a reputation for either using legally sourced and authentic Kalahari Hoodia Gordonii or raw material from China, Texas or Mexico. The only Hoodia known to have the characteristic appetite suppressing ability is the kind grown in the climate and soil of the Kalahari Deserts of South Africa. The material from other sources is much cheaper but has not been shown to be effective in any clinical trials. The research on Hoodia has all been done with the South African Gordonii.

There are 20+ species of Hoodia plants and only the Gordonii species has been studied as it contains potent amounts of the active appetite suppressing molecule, P57. It is possible for a Hoodia brand to contain 100% Pure Hoodia but be worthless as an appetite suppressant if it is not the Gordonii species of Hoodia. With the very inexpensive brands, there is no doubt that they contain an ineffective type of Hoodia. True Kalahari Hoodia Gordonii is expensive. The old saying "You get what you pay for", was never truer when it comes to buying Hoodia.

 

Don't let the price be the only guiding factor in your decision. You don't have to spend a fortune to get a quality premium product. There certainly are some hefty price tags on many of the most popular Hoodia brands. A good choice can be to by a private label brand that is from a reputable manufacture. There are some very high quality private label brands if you do your homework and look for them.

So More important than the brand is the manufacturer of the product. One such manufacturer is Advanced Dietarty Formulas.

 

They use authentic South African Kalahari Hoodia Gordonii in there diet supplements. You can eliminate all the worries and the guilt associated with wrong eating. You can make eating a joy and a pleasure not a mathematical equation. According to Dr. Campbell, research has shown over and over again that vegetarians and vegans (people who eat no animal products) are typically significantly slimmer than those who eat the standard American diet. In one study overweight subjects were told to eat all they wanted of foods that were mostly low-fat, whole food and plant-based. In three weeks the subjects on average lost 17 pounds each.

 

Vegetarian Versus Whole, Plant Based Foods

I need to give a word of clarification here. One can be a vegetarian and still be overweight. What happens is some vegetarians simply replace meats with refined grains, pastas, breads and sweets. A whole food, plant-based diet is the key to weight loss and an ongoing healthy lifestyle.

 

You can eat all you want of plant based foods in their natural forms, i.e. foods that have not been or have been very minimally processed. Some examples would be fresh raw fruits and vegetables, soaked nuts and seeds (not raw or roasted), brown rice, oat groats, various legumes and beans. Examples of foods that don't fit the whole food criteria are breads, pastries, milk, cheese, products with refined sugars or artificial sweeteners, canned fruits, soups, and vegetables etc.

We all know that exercise promotes weight loss. One study suggests that only 15 to 45 minutes of exercise a day will result in maintaining a body weight that is 11 to 18 pounds lighter than it otherwise would be. However, that's not the whole story. There is also some scientific evidence that suggests that vegetarians have on average a higher metabolic rate, meaning they burn more of their ingested calories rather than depositing them to fat. In another study, rats on mainly a vegetarian diet chose to exercise more than rats on a high animal protein diet.

 

You Have A Choice

Obesity and weight loss issues affect millions of people in our nation each year. Largely these problems can be eliminated with the proper education and attitude about what kind of foods promote health. Being overweight is not a problem that will ever be corrected by a diet program or a diet drink! Dr. Campbell says, "the diet that helps to reduce weight in the short run needs to be the same diet that creates and maintains health in the long run....we can control the cause (of obesity). Weight Loss : Are you Determined Enough to Succeed?

Determination separates the winners from the also-rans in almost every field. Without the strength of will to succeed, it's difficult to make the effort when you just don't feel like it. And with the pace of modern life there are generally a lot of times when our energy is flagging and it's easier just to sit on the sofa in front of the TV and order take-away than do anything like cooking a delicious healthy meal or going out for a walk after dinner.

If you think back, you'll probably see that whenever you succeeded at anything, you were determined to achieve whatever it was you set out to do.

You decided to do whatever it took and you did it. This may even have applied to times when you lost weight in the past. You lost weight by being determined to do so, but the problem is you just put it all straight back on again unless you were equally as determined not to gain weight.

 

So how do you increase your determination? Or is it just something you are born with and can't change?

Your level of determination is not fixed at birth, but it does have to come from you. No one else can be determined to lose weight and keep it off on your behalf. But there ARE ways in which you can increase it.

 

1. Be absolutely crystal clear about what you will gain from losing weight and staying slim. Why do you want this? Think about all the reasons you want it for you and not just for others. Write down your list of reasons and review it morning, noon and night.

2. Whenever you have a spare moment visualise how you will look when you lose weight and imagine how you will move, what you will wear and, above all, how good you will feel.

3. Strengthen your belief in your ability to succeed by telling yourself often that you CAN do this. Success is up to you and you can do it.

 

It doesn't matter what has happened in the past - you can succeed this time. Reinforce your determination in these three ways several times a day. It takes very little time and effort for something that makes so much difference. But the real trick comes with what you do next and this is a missing step in many self-help/success type processes. Straight after you run through these little exercises to strengthen your determination, take some kind of action towards your goal. It needn't be a huge step or take much time at all.

 

You can look for and plan healthy meals, go shopping for healthy food, get your gym kit ready, get changed into your running gear, do a few tummy squeezes, climb a flight of stairs or whatever. Just seize the moment. This then generates momentum all of it's own. Reinforcing your determination and belief leads to successful action which leads to being more motivated and having even more belief in your success. A happy "unvicious" circle!

 

Try it and you'll see your determination (and with it your chances of success) soar.

When the chocolate gave her heart palpitations and she had to take it back, they told her it was non-refundable. She was out the money for the chocolate. Plus, she feels she can't leave the program because she's paid the yearly fees (which, you guessed it, are also non-refundable).

 

She unfortunately made the mistake of ignoring her instincts and paying way too much money for a diet program. If you notice you're being asked for hefty fees right out of the gate, warning lights should be flashing in your mind. Now on the other hand, the best diet WILL cost you something. It actually is better if you put some cash on the table for your diet program. Why? Because when we invest in something we're more likely to stick with it. When we invest in something we are more likely to follow through and get the results we want.

 

For example I did a liver detox several months ago. I'm not really into liver detoxing but I read an article and figured I'd try it. The detox kit cost me a whopping $50 and when I opened the instructions they told me I had to give up junk food for two weeks. In any other universe I would have laughed and simply forgotten about detoxing my liver. But because I'd shelled out $50, I was invested - I decided that I hopefully wouldn't starve from lack of junk food over two weeks and suffered through it.

 

If I'd gotten the detox kit for free there's no way I would have followed those instructions. But because I was invested, I followed through and now have a healthier liver thanking me for it. So when searching for the best diet, putting out some money on yourself and your dreams of a better body is actually a healthy thing. Just keep in mind that you shouldn't have to spend thousands of dollars on it.

 

#3 Compatible with Your Tastes and Lifestyle

This is THE most crucial step however it's the one where most people go wrong. When choosing a diet, they simply pick one and go, without considering if it is compatible with their tastes and lifestyle. For example, if you hate feeling deprived or empty you might want to choose a program that lets you eat many times during the day so you don't feel hungry.
