These 40 calories come from fat stored in your body and are used up resulting in a loss of weight! You may wonder what foods you should eat to see these effects. There are many negative calorie foods. Fruits and vegetables make up a majority of the negative calorie foods. Make sure to include vegetables and/or fruits with every meal. Many fruits are sweet in flavor and are a great alternative to your normal fattening desert.

 

If you incorporate these negative calorie foods with a consistent exercise program and weight loss pills the effects are even more dramatic. Before using any weight loss pills or supplements you should consult a family doctor or physician. The great thing about negative calorie foods is they can help ease the stress of your diet. By eating these foods more often, your diet does not become bogged down by calorie counting. Negative calorie foods are a safe and effective way to lose weight. You body reacts this way because muscle is the most readily available energy source.

 

Using muscle tissue to feed the body lowers muscle mass causing the body's metabolism to slow down. This, in turn, makes it that much more difficult to lose weight. Starving yourself is NOT the answer! The result is a vicious cycle of trying to lose weight but gaining weight instead. What will burn that stubborn body fat and rev up your metabolism without burning muscle mass?

 

To effectively lose weight, you must drink lots of water, exercise daily, and eat five or six small nutritious meals throughout the day, no more than four hours apart. This weight loss plan keeps your metabolism working at maximum efficiency to burn fat.

 

Your body will not store up fat calories because it senses there will be a steady supply of food and you will not feel hungry or deprived between meals. With this change in your eating habits, you will not be as tempted to cheat and your weight loss will be much easier.

In addition, you MUST do some sort of daily exercise. Walking, power walking, jogging, elliptical training, bicycling and swimming are excellent and easy exercises that will put your body in fat-burning mode. These exercises force your body to burn a higher percentage of calories from fat and they increase your muscle mass which allows you to eat more. Plus, your body will burn calories for up to an hour after the activity stops.

 

The secrets to the most effective diet and weight loss plan are to listen to your body and eat when your body tells you it's hungry, do daily exercises and make the commitment to follow these guidelines for a lifetime. Once you train your body to follow a proper diet and nutrition plan, you will eat more frequently but you will eat fewer calories, feel more satisfied, and lose weight in a healthy manner. In that way and only that way, will you lose weight and keep it off.

Medical Weight Loss Programs: Are They Right for Me?

 

Medical weight loss programs may or may not be commercially owned. Services are provided in a health-care setting,such as a hospital, by licensed health professionals, such as physicians, nurses, dietitians, and/or psychologists. In some clinical programs, a health professional works alone; in others, a group of health professionals works together to provide services to patients. Clinical programs may offer you services such as nutrition education, medical care, behavior change therapy, and physical activity.

Very low-calorie diets (VLCDs) are commercially prepared formulas that provide no more than 800 calories per day and replace all usual food intake.

Clinical programs may also use other weight-loss methods, such as very low-calorie diets, prescription weight-loss drugs, and surgery, to treat severely overweight patients. These treatments are described below:

VLCDs help individuals lose weight more quickly than is usually possible with low-calorie diets. Because VLCDs can cause side effects, obesity experts recommend that only people who are severely overweight use these diets, and only with proper medical care.

Prescribed weight-loss drugs should be used only if you are likely to have health problems caused by your weight. You should not use drugs to improve your appearance. Natural weight-loss supplements, when combined with a healthy diet and regular physical activity, may help some obese adults lose weight. There is a wide variety of prescription weight-loss drugs on the market, however, before these medications can be widely recommended, more research is needed to determine their long-term safety and effectiveness.

You may consider gastric surgery to promote weight loss if you are more than 80 pounds overweight. The surgery, sometimes called bariatric surgery, causes weight loss in one of two ways: 1) by limiting the amount of food your stomach can hold by closing off or removing parts of the stomach or 2) by causing food to be poorly digested by bypassing the stomach or part of the intestines. Whether you know it or not the more lean muscle your body contains the more calories you burn, so you guessed it. Muscle loss results in less weight loss do to a lower metabolic rate. A proper exercise regimen will assist you in losing fat while maintaining or even gaining muscle which is desirable for long term weight loss management.

 

You aren't alone if your desire to take a magic pill and sit on the couch watching TV and eating Doritos. Almost everyone would rather eat celery sticks and drink only water than subject themselves to an exercise program of any kind, and God forbid, sit-ups! This is exactly why our nation as a whole is obese and our children are facing an obesity epidemic. You don't have to exercise like you are training for a triathlon; there are some simple things that anyone can do that will help you lose weight. One thing you can do that almost everyone is able to do is just walk. Start with just 15 minutes and work on increasing it. You don't have to walk the whole distance at once either. You can work up to doing 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes at night and that will go a long way to helping you keep your metabolism stoked, how hard is that?
