I went dancing recently and realized that I need to do this more often. I get to be creative and let go…..when I’m dancing individually. It’s a different story when I partner dance. Currently, I am with a partner who likes to partner dance and do west coast swing and salsa. He has taken lessons and has been dancing for several years. As for me, I took cha cha lessons years ago with my ex-husband and it wasn’t the best experience so partner dancing reveals a lot of things for me, which involves more than just dancing.
Picture me out on the dance floor being led around all over the place, but still trying to lead when I have no idea what I am doing. My partner informs me that I only have to follow and his responsibility is to make me look good. Follow! What does that mean? I tell him that I only want to move and shake my hiney. Of course, he tells me that it’s not the way one does it. This has brought up some insecurities in me: “I’m not good enough. No one is there for me.” This is a great lesson for me, and I’m determined to let go and experience “following”. As a result, I have signed up for dance lessons so that I can get better and am anxious to experience all that is intended for me.
Guess what those insecurities are related to?
Childhood! There was a great deal of chaos while growing up, and I took on the belief that no one was there for me so I had to be there for myself. This comes out on the dance floor about following my partner and being able to rely on him. I have made this realization and am doing my own energy work around this. My name is Steve Hill and I struggled to keep my weight under control for the first twenty-two years of my life. I was often teased at school and found it very hard to meet girls as I believed that there would be no way, that they would want to date somebody as fat as myself.
I was a very negative person and I frequently felt stressed and depressed. I often felt sorry for myself and would feel envious of other people who seemed fit, healthy and happy. During these periods of depression, I would often comfort eat to make myself feel better. I love food and this would temporarily help. The problem I found was that if I ate food for ten minutes, I would feel a sense of guilt for around two hours. These are the things I must do:
Eat three healthy meals a day. Exercise more. This will be achieved by leaving the car at home more often and by walking to certain places, such as my children's school. I will also take the children to play sports like football and tennis, as often as I can. Fight the demons in my head who constantly tempt me into eating.
These are the things I must not do:
Snack in between meals. Eat too many take-aways, I will basically allow myself one a week. Lie to other people or even myself about what I have eaten. This sounds so simple and is very easy to follow. I have to admit that it is not that easy to carry off, especially not being able to snack between meals. With determination you can succeed and the sense of happiness and pride you will feel when you reach a weight you are happy with, will make it all worthwhile.

Depending on the environmental conditions where you live, there may be extra precautions that you'll want to consider when trying to lose weight by following a healthy diet and weight loss program.
High altitude environments have less available oxygen then those closer to sea level. One of the effects of such altitude is that the heart must beat faster in order to do the job of delivering oxygen to the muscle tissues both while active and at rest. Depending on the specific altitude and corresponding acitivity, heart rates may soar as high as 50% above normal. Also, side effects like hyperventilation, dizziness, insomnia, weakness, headache, and irratability are also common in such an environment.
EXERCISING IN EXTREME HEAT
Under normal circumstances, the body's temperature is at or around 98°. In areas that have very high temperatures (around 100° or more), the body must adjust to maintain the proper temperature by transferring some of its heat back into the environment.
The primary result of this reaction is that he heart rate will be higher than normal, similar to the effect of being in high altitudes. To best aid the body in maintaining its normalcy under such conditions, make sure to drink 3 to 6 oz. of water for every 10 to 15 minutes of weight loss activity and allowing as much sweat to evaporate as possible. It is also important to wear as close to 100% cotton garments as well as stray away from rubberized or water-proof garments that will prevent sweat evaporation. Light colors should also be worn.
EXERCISING IN THE COLD
To the surprise as many, water replenishment is just as important in the cold as it is in much warmer environments.
The fact of the matter is that water is lost as vapor as inhaled during cardiovascular exercise and other activities that help you to ultimately lose weight. There is also a risk of losing too much body heat once you are done exercising.
