Skin Care- Easy Control For Pores To Look Young

Skin care and pores-

Pores play a major role as far as our looks are concerned. When we have large pores that look still larger when we reach the mirror, we feel disheartened by what we see. There is no need to feel helpless about the pores. Let me tell you how you can look young with tight looking pores.

Keep the pores open by regularly exfoliating the skin with topical retinoids.

Skin Pores- pores are for sebum, sweat and hair

Why do we have pores? We have pores so that the hair can come out of them. The pores are an outlet for the sebum. That sebum helps us in having a healthy skin. Sebum protects skin against microbial infections. Sebum also helps keep skin moisturized. Sweat also comes from the pres. sweat, as we all know is important to keep body temperature constant. A pore is important for that.

Pores- why do they enlarge?

Pores may be enlarged due to two reasons. One - genetic and oily skin, two- they look enlarged but are not so. Many of us inherit enlarged pores. We can do nothing about them, except keeping them clean and using makeup intelligently. Those with oily skin also have enlarged pores that can be controlled to a great extent by keeping the oils under control. Many times the excess sebum and dead skin cells accumulate around the pores and make them look enlarged. This problem can be rectified easily.

Pores- exfoliate and keep them open

Use AHAs to remove the dead cells and use pH-balanced cleansers to keep oil under control. This will help you keep your pores clean and they will not look enlarged. Learn how AHas help our skin by clicking here- AHAs

Masculine Skin Care For The Summer

You agree - you'd rather die than be caught by your buddies stepping into a spa or salon. Growing up with a crowd that defines skin care as soap and water, you are afraid to admit that you want better skin. No matter how much you diss the so-called metrosexuals (brave souls!) for their skin regimens that rival ladies', you are a bit jealous. It doesn't help either that summer is upon us and your skin is blooming in zits. Okay, admit it - you want to be just like them but don't know where to start. Before shopping for skin care items, wearing a clown suit, and asking the salesperson for "that thingy with tiny beads, y'know?", here is a rundown of the things you ought to know.

Cleansing is easy with the number of products available in the groceries and drug stores today. Probst advises the use of products that are free of chemicals and harsh ingredients. Cleansers and soaps made of natural components are available in many variants but choose one that is specified for facial skin care. Keep deodorant soaps for your body and don't burden your face with deodorant residue. If you are not sure what brand or kind works best for you, consult a dermatologist. If you are afraid, buy trial packs or small sizes and try each for a week. Since you are buying all natural products, there are only minimal risks of irritation involved. Just make sure that you are not allergic to the cleanser's components.

Exfoliation and toning do not involve wrenches or dumbbells, either. It means removing dead skin cells to smoothen skin's surface. Probst suggests the use of facial scrubs. These scrubs are just like cleansers but with soft and mild abrasives like beads incorporated in the formula. Effective scrubs for summer are Jojoba beads. These are mild enough for regular skin care but effective in removing dead cells. Since you spend most of your time outdoors in summer, your facial skin is in greater risk of dirt and pollutants. Nobody wants to be a summer hermit, so toners are your best friends to continue enjoying your active lifestyle. Probst explains that toning does not only remove dirt from your face; it also keeps skin supple and resilient. She suggests using astringents with glycolic acids twice a day to reduce the size of the pores and prevent ingrown hairs during shaving.

Of course, skin care is not all about cleansing and keeping dirt of your face. Facial skin especially needs nourishment and protection. Nourishment comes in the form of moisturizers. Yes, your skin still needs light moisturizers even if it is oily. These moisturizers hydrate your skin to regulate oil production. Probst recommends applying moisturizers the areas under the eyes and the sides of the mouth. Doing so prevents the onset of something worse than zits - wrinkles. Eye gels and face serums with Vitamin E and chamomile nourish and refresh your skin. It is unwise to let all your skin care efforts go to waste. Probst warns that sun exposure can damage your skin. Wear hats and protect your face with sunscreens and sunblock creams. Good skin doesn't always come with genes. Proper skin care is necessary to achieve healthy skin. The effort you put in skin care is reflected in your mirror soon enough.

Organic Skin Care For Men VS Chemical Skin Care For Men

When we men start buying skin care products, we don’t look too much in the components and nature of the product in front of us. We just tend glaze over the counter and read general features, such as “anti-aging”, “no more wrinkles”, “bye bye greasy skin”. However there is one of these features that we should be more aware of: “organic product”.

Recite it all together now: cleanse, tone, moisturize, nourish, and protect. Don't follow it with a karate chop; it's not a kung fu mantra. Rather, this is your new creed for improved skin. Michele Probst, an expert in masculine skin care, says that skin is oilier during summer because of the humidity. Heat caused by humidity makes facial oils, or sebum rise to the surface. These oils trap dirt into the pores which bacteria turn into zits or pimples. She adds that men's facial skin has larger pores with 20% more oil compared to women. This means that the old soap and water routine is not enough. She outlines the above mantra as an easy five-step method to clearer skin.

Organic skin care or natural skin care, refers to the use of all-natural ingredients to take care of our skin. These products are generally made of more than one type of herbs and seeds, that combined are able to bring the same results as a chemical based products. Organic lifestyles and the rediscovery of ancient herbs are making organic skin care increasingly popular in men skin care products, and put chemical based products under the spotlight.

Chemical skin care became popular thanks to its sometimes incredible results in correcting skin problems. And that was the reason they had a higher price too. But as years had passed, medical investigations had shown that some of these components are not safe. Components such as Aliminum, Propulene Glycol and Imidazolidinyl urea, have been proved to be harmful to people. Their effects include links with breast cancer, contact dermatitis, ototoxicity, kidney damage and more. Most of the products with these components have been banned, but there are some that not, even with all the research to back that up. There may be also other components not YET found harmful.

As men we are in contact with a lot of these chemicals, but not as much as a woman. An average woman uses 12 beauty products a day, this adds up 168 chemicals!

However, with all that, we shouldn’t rely so blindly in Organic skin care. Organic products are notoriously under-regulated and some of these so called “All-natural” products use chemicals, and chemical processes to blend the components. Of course not too many people speak loudly about these, and you come to discover the effects by yourself.

The best advice to take is this: Know what you are using. You have to be informed, because it is your skin what we are talking about here. You may think that as a man your skin is tougher, but that is not true. Facial skin is more sensitive in men due to constant bad shaving habits. Do a search on Internet for the ingredients on the product you’re about to buy and if possible ask a doctor for advice.

Can Antioxidants Improve Skin Care?

For most issues related to teenagers, fads rule the roost. And skin care issues are highest among teenager. Today any medium, be it magazines, newspapers, television or the Internet are inundated with skin care related articles. These articles could include various therapies and homemade solutions for skin care. Ranging from the totally natural to those which involve chemicals, these articles provide the reader with the much needed solutions to their skin related problems.

These days the latest craze in skin care regimes is natural antioxidant skin care. The belief that is being popularized these days is that the more natural the product being used the more effective and devoid of side effects it will be. This concept has a strong historical background since it is a known fact that queens and princesses of the ages gone by used natural extracts of plants like hibiscus and olive to keep their skin glowing and youthful. Over time man has processed these very elements and made them available to the common man in the form of tubes, bottles and cans containing moisturizers, creams, shampoos and anti-ageing gels. These contain the richness of the abundant health secrets hidden in the flora and fauna of the jungles. The only difference is that they are more likely to have been processed in a research laboratory and tested before being presented to you for use.

These distilled ingredients used to keep a healthy body are being called nutriceuticals. This new addition to the dictionary is made up of the words ‘nutrients’ and pharmaceutical’. Most companies which make skin care related products tout the goodness of antioxidants and natural products that contain antioxidants. An antioxidant is something that destroys the harmful oxygen free radicals. These free radicals could be a product of normal functioning of the body or could be generated due to external factors like ultraviolet rays from the sun.

Though the concept of free radicals is extremely complicated to explain, suffice it to know that these radicals can be harmful and can result in mutation in genes. Mutation can lead to skin cancer and make the individual incapable of repairing the damage done to the skin. With antioxidants we can limit the number of free radicals in our system, thereby ensuring that we not only keep our skin supple and glowing but also healthy. This wonderful discovery of how antioxidants can work to negate the effect of free radicals had led to fantastic products which can help in tackling issues related to ageing skin. Problems like wrinkles, spots, pigmentation and small growths can be resolved with increasing the amount of antioxidants in your diet and oral application of antioxidant concentrates.

Discover The Link Between Acne And Skin Care

Proper skin care is important any time, but it's particularly important if you're dealing with acne. One of the "secrets" to controlling an acne problem is to keep your skin as healthy as you can. This includes keeping it clean and avoiding things like sunshine and harsh cosmetics that can damage the skin.

Cleaning Your Skin

Use a specialized skin cleanser or a gentle soap daily, according to the directions. Don't scrub your face as this can aggravate acne and actually make the problem worse. Moisten your face with a soft cloth and apply the cleaner to your skin, from your hairline to your neck. Rinse it with plenty of water and dry your face by patting it with a soft towl (again, avoid scrubbing it dry). If you have oily skin you may need to use an astringent, however do so with care. Only use it on problem spots and stop if it irritates your skin. If you think you may need to use an astringent, you should consult with your dermatologist first. Hair care is also related to acne and skin care. Shampoo your hair regularly and do your best to keep it off your face. If your hair is oily, it can lead to acne if not kept clean and away from your face.

Sun Protection

It has long been thought that exposure to the sun can help acne, but this isn't really the case. The sun can dry out your skin and a tan can make your acne less obvious, but it's really a temporary solution. Once your skin acclimatizes itself to the sun, your acne will return plus the sun exposure carries other risks such as skin cancer. Some acne treatments can also make your skin more sensitive to the sun, and in turn more likely to burn. You should always wear sunscreen when you're out in the sun, whether you're dealing with acne or not.

Makeup & Cosmetics

Ideally, wearing no makeup is the best choice but if that isn't an option be sure to choose a makeup that won't clog your pores. These cosmetic products are labelled as noncomedogenic, although some people may still have problems when using them. Be sure you choose makeups that don't use an oil base. Read the ingredients before choosing anything.

There is no hard and fast rule when choosing between electric razors and safety razors. Some people will find one more comfortable, some with find the other. If you choose to use safety razors, don't shave with dull blades. You might have to shave around serious acne lesions, and make sure you soften your beard with water and shaving cream before you shave. If you're having a particular bad day with acne breakouts, it's probably best to skip shaving altogether.

Avoid Touching Your Skin

It's tempting to squeeze pimples, but don't give in! It can lead to more serious problems because squeezing them can cause the bacteria that causes acne to spread. It can also cause permanent scarring in some cases.

It's also a good idea to avoid touching your face because your hands tend to be dirty and oily and they can spread germs.

Acne Skin Care

As a long time sufferer from acne, I’ve spent some years looking into the different forms of acne skin care. One thing I’ve learned is there are about as many different forms of skin care as there are people looking for skin care. Everyone seems to have their own unique idea on ways to treat acne, or prevent acne from occurring in the first place. The one thing I have learned about acne skin care is that your skin can be treated by ways other than topical products. Skin is a part of your body, and contrary to popular belief is very much alive, only the outermost layers of skin are ‘dead’. Taking good care of your health and yourself in general can therefore be a good method of skin care.

This includes a healthy diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and frequent exercise, but most important I’ve found that keeping stress levels down makes a huge difference for me. My acne is like a stressometer, if I’ve got a lot on my plate I’m pretty much guaranteed to wake up in the morning with two or three new little friends. So learning different techniques to keep stress levels down has proven to be the best acne skin care I’ve come up with, in that it prevents it from happening at all. What you decide to do to keep stress down is up to you, just make sure it’s not alcohol! Alcohol may help you relax, but its one of those culprits that can cause a lot of acne outbreaks for people. Limit the amount of caffeine that you consume as well.

Other thing you need to keep in mind is your main goal with a product. Man skin care products exist for a variety of applications, from anti-aging creams to pore cleaning products. But remember also that you should take care of all your skin as well. A younger face means not only less wrinkles but an overall healthy look.

Stress isn’t just feeling pressured or tense, but also includes stress to your body that you don’t otherwise notice. Alcohol puts your body under stress, even if it makes you feel mentally at ease. Of course, some acne just appears whether I’m stressed or not, so there’s always a need for some skin care beyond just healthy low stress living. As far as topical acne skin care treatments, I prefer using soaps that have either salicylic acid or benzyl peroxide in them. For years I was using benzyl peroxide soaps every day with some success, but I’ve recently discovered salicylic acid is just as effective in acne skin care for me.

I use one or the other every day whether I’m having outbreaks or not, and follow up washing my face and applying an skin care moisturizer that suits me and causes no side affects to my skin. This last part is key, as I’ve found that not using a moisturizer will often lead to outbreaks. Acne skin care soaps are often quite harsh, and can in themselves cause acne for me if I don’t follow up with something to sooth the cleaned skin.

Nowadays, men are increasingly taking care of their skin. We have come to realize this is not just about looking good, it’s primarily about health. Look at shaving creams and face cleaning soaps for example, they have certain types: for sensitive skin, for dry skin, oily skin. Determine which skin type you have, and work from there.

I would also recommend to always prefer natural man skin care products. The reason? Just as the name says, it’s natural. You’ll be amazed of the quality of natural products for the skin available for men since ancient ages. Some man skin care products have us so blinded by claims of miracle chemical ingredients, that we often forget the simplicity of natural skin care.

Don’t get caught on nice packaging and miracle claims, always stick to the facts because is your health what we are talking about here.
