My Experience With Magnesium

I recently started to do research on Magnesium.

I have long believed it was an important mineral and have been taking magnesium supplements on and off for quite a few years now.

I first started taking Chelated Magnesium based on my nutritionists suggestions and it seemed to be a part of my overall health plan and I had success with that.

I did have a lot of improvements but as it was part of an overall nutritional program i did not see the direct effects of magnesium supplementation.

Recently however I started to feel more aches and pains and decided it was time to look up magnesium on the internet.

I was immediately drawn to the works of Dr. Russsel Blaylock and Dr. Carolyn Dean and soon was getting enthusiastic about what magnesium might do for me.

So I eventually ordered 2 different kinds – Jigsaw Magnesium with SRT (time release) and Natural Calm.

I’ve had problems in the past with diarehea when taking magnesium so I started off slowly.

Originally I was taking 1 capsule daily of the jigsaw and after a couple of days worked up to 2 capsules once daily. Soon I will try the 2 capsules twice daily.

I then added in a teaspoon of Natural Calm in the afternoon each day.

I will say I was sleeping better than ever! Immediate improvement in my sleeping habits. Went to bed earlier and slept longer with fewer interruptions. A few mornings I woke up invigorated and feeling ready to go. I haven’t been that up and at it in some time so that was a noticeable improvement.

In general I am sleeping much better now.

I was experiencing looser bowels and did have very soft stools more often.

Before the magnesium I was going 2 times a day most days and after 3 or 4 or even 5 times a day.

I know it’s generally a good idea to be going o the bathroom after every major meal – so this seems to be a plus. I only wonder if the looseness in my stool is causing any absorption issues with the other supplements I am taking. Not sure.

I am sleeping pretty good and all in all I feel great and am glad I am back on magnesium supplements.

The next thing I will do is get some of Dr. Carolyn Dean’s Remag supplement. She is the author of the Magnesium Miracle which is an amazing book.

It sounds like it may be absorbed even better and have less laxative effect than the magnesium I am currently taking. Better absorption would be a big plus so I will try that.

If you have a chance I suggest going to Dr. Dean’s ReMag website and snooping around. Most people are deficient in magnesium and it is possible you may be in need of it!

Take A Look At These Sleep Apnea Tips

You have to have sleep to be healthy and feel good, but sleep apnea can make this nearly impossible. In this post, you’ll get some helpful tips to assist you in coping with sleep apnea, so you can get the best night’s sleep possible and have a better daily life because of it.

For the best types of sleep treatments available, visit for more information.

Using a mouth guard specifically made for sleep apnea sufferers may help you sleep better. This will help you breathe better at night. Speak with your doctor to see if you should get a specially fitted mouth guard.

Talk to your physician about the possibility of a mouth piece to correct your sleep. Your symptoms could very well be exacerbated by congenital conditions like a small jaw, an over- or under-bite, or a naturally constricted airway. With a specialty device, you can change your sleeping position and align your jaw so that you are able to sleep.

Use a fitted sleep apnea mouth guard. These oral devices are specially made for sleep apnea sufferers. This can be an alternative to a CPAP machine, and can be more comfortable, to boot. Your airway will stay open wider and the guard will provide added stability for your throat.

If your doctor has prescribed a CPAP machine for you, make sure you use it every night, for at least 4 hours. Using a CPAP while sleeping is a tough adjustment for many patients to make. Four hours of use daily is recommended with a CPAP machine to see the medical benefits. If it is hard and become difficult to adjust to in the beginning, then ensure you are using it at least four hours a night.

Those with sleep apnea should treat any symptoms of sinus or allergy problems. Having sleep apnea means you already struggle to breathe during the night. You don’t need anything else to interfere with your sleep. You need to keep your airways open, and remedying the slightest nasal condition will help you sleep better throughout the night.

Don’t use more than one standard pillow. Over-sized pillows may lead to you sleeping in an unhealthy position. You’ll be resting in such a way that makes breathing difficult. That’s why using one pillow may be the answer to your sleep apnea problem.

Few things are as detrimental to your daily life and health as sleep deprivation. Get control over your condition now. Life is hard, and being sleep deprived makes it even harder.

1418598756_SmileThey have been proven to help with depression among other things.

There are many claims around about aromatherapy benefits. A great deal of these claims cannot be proved one way or the other. Until serious money is put into real clinical trials, it will be difficult to have a definitive answer. In the meantime, people would do well to research anyone claiming to be an aromatherapist before handing over any money.

That said, there are aromatherapy benefits that are real, and are worth time and money to use. Most people have used a vapor rub of one sort or another when they had a cold. There are essential oils available for this that are purported to be purer, and thus more effective. They can also be used in ways other then putting them in or on one’s nose. Essential oils can be added into candles to help ease the breathing.

Another way to use this mixture is to put a few drops on a facial tissue and hold it under the nose; one must proceed cautiously and start with just one or two drops in case of a sensitivity or allergy to an essential oil.

Some mixtures of essential oils have positive aromatherapy benefits for those who have trouble falling asleep. Lavender is frequently mentioned as a good one for easing into a good nights sleep; others are geranium and juniper. Peppermint and sandalwood oils are said to be mood enhancers, as is eucalyptus according to some reference sources with listings of aromatherapy benefits.

Fans of aromatherapy benefits claim that minor cases of depression can be eased by finding and using the right combination of essential oils. Severe cases of depression should, of course, be treated by a qualified physician

According to aromatherapy benefits, stress relief is another thing to add to the list of things aromatherapy could help with. With specially selected essential oils a carefully blended potion can be immensely helpful, if used properly. With all the stress people are under anything that can help is useful. Blood pressure tends to be higher with more stress added.

The essential oils are very versatile and can be used for a variety of reasons, ranging from depression to sleeplessness. There are many recipes available to all to create what is needed for each different disorder. The recipes must be followed exactly for the best results, and always use the freshest herbs and other ingredients, as well. In addition, the aromatherapy benefits increase when the essential oils are supplied in the correct manner, whether it be through diffusers, candles, sprays or sachets.
