Thinning hair or a receding hairline can be a real problem. It affects the way people perceive you, and makes you self-conscious about your appearance. I know because I've had that problem too. And most of the time, the disappearing follicles are not caused by any mistake on our part... our loss of hair is in our genes. You may have tried some hair-growth formulas or pills which have managed to arrest the receding hairline, but you have not been able to regain a thicker, fuller head of hair. Here are five proven practices you can use to complement your hair formula and grow more hair.
*Inversion* One of the major causes of baldness is a lack of bloodflow to the scalp. This may be caused by shrinking capillaries or scalp muscle tension. The simple solution is to reduce scalp tension and invert the body so more blood flows to the head. You can do this by letting half your body hang off the edge of a bed.
*Nutrition* You are what you eat. Your body works with whatever nutrients you give it. So if you feed it fat and oil, the body is going to store it. Fat and oil is no good especially if you have an oily scalp. Switch to a lean meat, high fibre diet, and take multi-vitamins that contain biotin and zinc (two essential nutrients for hair growth). I know it's not easy to change the way you eat, especially when you have cravings or have been eating a certain way for years. But think of it as feeding your hair the nutrients it needs to grow strong and beautiful.
*Vital Energy* This concept is a bit esoteric, but it is a universal truth. Your body runs on vital energy. The Chinese call this Qi. The Indians call it Prana. Now this energy has two forms: Yin and Yang. Yin energy is cooling, like water. Yang energy is hot, like fire. You must keep the two in balance in order for the body to be healthy. Most people with thinning hair, have an excess of Yang energy. They like to eat high Yang energy foods like meat and nuts. Understand that hair is associated with Yin energy. So you've got to eat the cooling stuff like fruits, vegetables; soybean, tofu, avocado, tomatoes, cucumber, celery, bananas and more. All the stuff you didn't like to eat as a kid. Reduce the intake of heaty foods like burgers, pizzas, steak, fries, deep-fried chicken and anything with excessive oil.
If you don't like having to chew through all that fruit and vegetable fibre, I've got a million dollar tip for you: GET A BLENDER. You can put your fruits and selected vegetables in it; add ice, throw some yogurt on top (and water, if neccessary), press blend and presto! Instant smoothie. This one technique has helped me consume five times more fruit and vegetables than I would in a normal day. Imagine the nutritional power of taking in one apple, two pears, one banana, one carrot, one tomatoe and three stalks of celery, all in one smooth and delicious drink! *Cut Toxic Substances* It makes sense that if you're trying to grow hair through a healthy body, you've got to remove the toxins from your system. And the major intake of toxins used by the majority of the population are tobacco and alcohol. If you smoke - quit. If you drink - reduce or refuse. Removing these two poisons will stop the toxic build-up in your system. Only then will your effort to consume nutritious foods and balance vital energy not be wasted by these damaging habits.
*Become Stress-Free* In your effort to ensure maximum bloodflow and nutrition to the scalp, one natural factor can inhibit your progress - stress. Stress can cause your scalp muscles to contract while you furrow your brow in frustration. This stops the bloodflow to your hair roots. Without the blood to deliver nutrients, your hair follicles die.
Whether you're a working person or a student, everyone experiences stress. It's a natural part of life. The difference between those who feel free and happy, and those who are frustrated, is simply the ability to relax and let go of worries. In this crazy fast-paced world of ours, the ability to let go and centre oneself is becoming a rare commodity. Many people simply don't know how to avoid getting stressed. I can't teach you the whole technique here, but I'll point you in the two golden directions to removing stress from your life.
#1 Learn to Meditate That's right, you heard me. Meditate. Learn to sit down and let all your thought flow past. Neither criticizing nor worrying about what you should do about it all. Simply let it pass. I suggest you learn to meditate. Whether you learn from book, from audio, or a formal class. It's one skill that will bring you a lifetime of stress-free living.
#2 Get Organized When you have a plan, you reduce the amount of worry in your mind. Having a concrete step-by-step plan of what you need to do to overcome your problems provides a sense of security and certainty. No longer are you a lost ship at sea because now you have a map. All you need to do is paddle real hard to get to where you want to go. The value in organizing yourself is you reduce stress and increase productivity. Not only will you grow more hair, you'll be a greater success because of it.

Propecia Is A Preventive Measure For Treating Hair Loss
Who doesn't want to carry a head with plenty of hair? But if oflate any of you are suffering from any kind of hair loss, then it's high time that you should take some preventive measures to save your hair. Nowadays, baldness can be effectively cured by the wonders of prescriptive medicines. The success of such treatments is evident.
Moreover, regrowth of hair doesn't mean a man will necessarily recover his full set of hair for it may simply stop the hair from falling out.
The most popular medication for treating male baldness is Propecia and is gaining popularity at the highest level. But its effectiveness differs from people to people. In other words, a young man with minimal hair loss is more likely to regain it faster than a man with bald patches. But it is sure that this medicine will perform either of these. Its effectiveness was successfully demonstrated in men aged 18 to 50 years old, with mild to moderate hair gain at the top and middle front of the head.
Propecia is an oral treatment for tackling male pattern hair loss. It contains a substance called Finasteride which was first developed to cure enlarged prostrate gland i.e. prostrate cancer. But researchers noticed that a lower dose of finasteride develops hair in men. It has been found to block Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) or the 5 alpha enzymes which has been proven to trigger male pattern hair loss. Clinical trial has found that it not only reduces or slows down the rate of thinning hair and hair loss but also helps to grow some amount of hair back in the bald patches.
Propecia is reasonably a right step for treating male pattern hair loss in men. Although it does not have severe adverse affects, it is always suggested to consult a doctor for its proper administration. Moreover, it may take some considerable amount of time to work, but never stop taking this drug without checking with your doctor. Hair loss is common in men. So if you experience hair loss, don't feel alone and worried. Instead try to take some preventive measures with proper medications like Propecia.

Then there are medications that come by prescription that can assist in natural hair regrowth and rethickening. The considerations that need to be made here are that prescription medications for hair loss often involve altering various hormonal levels which can unfortunately lead to sexual dysfunction and decreases in sexual arousal.
The reason for 92% of cases of baldness is a condition called androgenetic alopecia. This condition causes baldness by converting the bodies testosterone to a substance called DHT which is released through the skin (including the scalp) which damages hair follicles and inhibits hair growth.
Procerin uses completely natural ingredients to combat the release of this DHT, allowing your hairs growth to resume as normal and preventing the loss of existing hair. As a result of weeks and months with less hair falling out and existing hair growing unrestricted by DHT, the user gets to regain the head of hair they once enjoyed.
The results from Procerin are shown to be remarkable in terms of both long-term effectiveness and speed. Procerin is an ongoing treatment and can be taken as required with no side effects or adverse reactions caused. With few or no drawbacks and quick and guaranteed results Procerin is likely to be the next big thing in hair loss treatment so don't be surprised to see it on TV, in magazines or in newspapers in the coming months and years.
What happens if I stop taking Procerin? This is a common concern. Some subjects have reported that their results remain permanent after ceasing use of Procerin while others find that after a certain period of no longer taking the supplement they begin losing small amounts of hair again. This varies due to the level of testosterone (and hence DHT) produced in the individual but luckily you can alter your Procerin supplementation according to your own results. With correct usage Procerin really can help you regain that youthful appearance and feel younger and more confident again.
Propecia is a Convenient Way to Treat Male Pattern Hair Loss.
A few years ago, there was only one option available to cover up one's bald patches, and that was to purchase a retail hair piece or a wig. But now with the advent of proper hair medicines, people are expecting new and successful hopes. Woking on this hope, Propecia is found to be an approved treatment for treating male pattern hair loss especially on the top of the head and anterior mid scalp region.
Hair follicles are highly sensitive to DHT and shrink upon exposure to the hormone until they are no longer capable of producing hair. At the same time, the growth stage becomes shorter and this ultimately results in very thin, short hair until growth ultimately stops altogether.
Propecia is approved for the treatment of men who have male pattern baldness on the top of the head and anterior mid-scalp region. Propecia blocks the formation of DHT and in this way appears to interrupt a key factor in the development of inherited male pattern hair loss in men. Propecia actually blocks the production of DHT and as a result thinning of hair ceases and a more normal growth may possibly occur.
Propecia works best in men who are losing hairs on the top of the heads. During clinical studies, it has been found that 20 % of men taking 1mg dose of Propecia over a period of 1 year, experienced moderate growth of hair and the number slightly inched when tested for 2 years. Most men found results just within 3 months. It has been found effective in majority of men. Infact FDA clinical trials reviewed that 2 men out of 3 found positive results with moderate to heavy hair growth. But yes, results will vary and generally one will not be able to get back all the hair that he lost.
The good news about Propecia is that it is really safe. No potential side affects are registered till now. But if you have any allergic reactions to any drugs, it is suggested to consult with a doctor. Moreover it a prescription drug and the doctor can only prescribed the right dose. If you are a victim of male pattern hair loss Propecia may be the right choice for you. It has the treatment that has the convenience of a once a day pill.

Is Hair Loss Due To Genes Permanent?
Hair Loss In Men And Women Alike!
Hair loss and Thinning Hair can happen to both men and women at almost any age. Many men experience a receding hairline during their early twenties and women begin to notice a thinning right behind their hairline from a very early age as well. Most people begin to see dramatic hair loss during their middle age years and become desperate to find an effective hair loss treatment. There are many different opinions on whether or not there are actually products that can reverse hair loss. Most will agree that hair loss prevention is more likely to be possible, but an effective hair loss treatment is something that has many skeptics and few optimists. See Hair Care
Genetic Hair Loss
In the case of losing hair based on genes, there may not be much that men or women can do in the way of prevention. Chances are that if a parent or close relative, or many close relatives, suffer from hair loss, these individuals with also have hair loss caused by heredity. In these instances, hair loss acts like a genetic based disease or trait that carries itself in DNA. However, not all hair loss is heredity based. In fact, some individuals may experience hair loss, while their parents and close relatives have not. Usually, this means that another factor is causing the hair loss, like high stress or poor nutrition.
Is Hair Loss Due To Genes Permanent?
If your hair loss is due to genetics, which is most often the case, your hair loss is likely permanent. But that doesn't mean you don't have any options. You have a number of them to consider. Hair transplants are getting more popular because of the advancements made with the technology. In the past, hair plugs were used and they looked unnatural and didn't do a great job filling in the hair. Today, hair transplant surgery is extremely good at creating a natural head of hair that is full. If you aren't up for surgery, you can choose non surgical procedures such as hair weaves. This is where natural or synthetic hair is woven in with your own creating the appearance of a full head of hair.
What Is Sudden Hair Loss?
Sudden hair loss is also noticed in the postpartum period of pregnant women. This is mainly due to the sudden withdrawal of hormones after giving birth to a child. Hair stays in the growing phase during pregnancy. This kind of sudden hair loss will get cured automatically without any hair treatment. Excess combing or brushing may be avoided to prevent excessive loss of hair.
Choosing The Right Hair Loss Remedy
Overall, choosing a hair loss remedy depends on the circumstances. After figuring out the cause of the hair loss, the persons may then research the available treatments. From there, these individuals may choose a remedy, or remedies, that best will work best. Even if the chosen remedy does not work, there are other options that may work. It takes a little time, research, experimenting, and patience to find a proficient hair loss remedy that prevents and treats damaged hair, or that re-grows/replaces previously lost hair.
As we age, many of us - men and women - will start to experience thinning
hair. This is because some follicles naturally shut down over time
and gradually stop growing hair. Whether this happens to you is determined
by your genes. You may begin to notice finer
hair being produced on the top of your head where your hair was
once quite thick.
Menopause and Hair Loss
Menopause is something that happens to all women as they get older. It is a natural and normal occurrence. Menopause is when a woman has not had a menstrual period for a full year. It marks both the end of menstruation and the end of a woman's ability to naturally conceive a child.
When you think of someone balding, you think of a man. But women lose their hair, too. In fact, there are just as many women as there are men who have hair loss. Menopause's shifting landscape of hormones may make it worse.
About 40 percent of women by age 40 have some hair loss, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Hair loss can begin for women as early as age 20. Hair loss accelerates during menopause.
Lifestyle Changes to Prevent Hair Loss
Nutritional therapy - hair health requires good nutrition with enough iron, vitamin C, B vitamins (especially biotin) and essential fatty acids. These nutrients can help to reduce hair loss and promote healthy growth. Supplements of zinc and silica can also help, as can the amino acid lysine, which helps promote good circulation.
Dietary change - eating more protein can reduce hair loss. Protein can be obtained from pulses, soya products, wholegrains, dairy produce, eggs, meat and fish. Increasing intake of citrus fruits, berries and green vegetables will boost vitamin C and aid circulation.
Tips and tricks to prevent Hair Loss
1. Check your diet: nutrition plays a key role in maintaining a healthy mane. Lack of balance and deficiency in one area can accelerate the onset of hereditary hair loss. Consult your doctor or nutritionist for advice.
2. Steer clear of hairstyles that put tension on the hair follicles, such as tight ponytails, chignons and plaits. Think loose and comfortable.
3. Layered cuts can make a big difference in creating the illusion of more 'oomph'!
4. Avoid the over-use of heated styling tools, such as tongs and straightening irons, which place strain on the hair and can lead to breakage.
when the amount of hair lost grows higher than the normal hair fall that takes place due to the change in environment, increasing age or growth of new hairs, it is referred to as thinning hair problem that needs special care. Improper or poor diet, exposure to a lot of chemicals or cosmetics, hormonal imbalance, stress, anxiety and mental tension are some causes of thinning hair.

Our hormones govern the development of hair that appears after puberty. The male hormone, testosterone, governs beard, body hair and hair in the armpits. The female hormone, estrogen, generally prevents hair growth on the chin and encourages it to grow on the head. Occasionally women develop signs of thinning hair or baldness when estrogen levels drop. Treatment with estrogen has been successful in restoring hair growth and stopping of thinning hair.
Hair Loss IS Inherited!
It is your inherited DNA, passed on from EITHER parent, that will eventually determine your thinning hair. For the purpose of this article, you need only understand that with current technology, your genetic code is beyond your control, although that may change within the next ten to fifteen years. However, you should also be aware that today, like no other time in history, medical science is able to provide safe and effective treatment for thinning hair.
Thinning Hair Treatment: Rogaine
By far the most publicized medical treatment available for male pattern baldness is minoxidil (Rogaine). The idea of using minoxidil topically to grow hair was serendipitous. This drug was originally developed to treat high blood pressure and had the unanticipated side effect of stimulating hair growth, sometimes in unwanted areas. This observation led to the testing of topical minoxidil on balding areas of the scalp. Since its introduction in 1988, Upjohn, the manufacturer, sells about $150 million worth of the drug each year, even though its ability to grow back hair is, at best, modest.
Minoxidil 2% (Rogaine) solution for application to the scalp has been available for over 10 years and is now available without a prescription in the US. It can be used by both men and women who are experiencing thinning hair. Originally used for the treatment of high blood pressure, physicians noted that one of its side effects was promoting hair growth. Although its mechanism is not completely understood, it seems to work best to stop or slow further thinning hair and works more effectively on the crown than at the frontal hairline. A more potent concentration of Rogaine (Minoxidil 5%) is now available and has been shown to be more effective than the 2% solution. (see Rogaine)
Thinning Hair Remedies
1. Massage the scalp gently with coconut or almond oil daily for 10 to 15 minutes.
2. Boil neem leaves in water. Cool, strain and rinse hair with it.
3. Increase green leafy vegetables, salads, milk, fruits and sprouts in the diet. Take more proteins, milk, buttermilk, yeast, wheat germ, soya beans, whole grains and nuts.
