Determing Which is the Best Hair Loss Product

You have probably asked yourself time and time again, what is the best hair loss product available? That question was asked on a Google answers site, and the experts answer? They stated that there is no answer to that question.

There are many kinds of home remedies for hair loss.

They are correct in that there is no general answer to that question, but there is an answer to the alternative question, "What is the best hair loss product for me?" It's still not an easy question to answer though, and you'll probably need to find the answer via good old-fashioned trial and error methods.

§ Rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar and sage tea. § A variety of oils have been used--almond oil, castor oil, olive oil, and amla oil. Usually the oil is warmed, which will at least feel good and make your hair shiny. § Applying coconut milk or aloe vera gel to your scalp. § Applying a masque of honey and egg yolk to your hair and scalp. All of these concoctions should be washed out (except the apple cider and sage tea rinse) after use.

Hair Care Products

The best hair loss product for you could be as simple as a good shampoo or conditioner. Some people swear by Nizoral shampoo, and say it puts an end to hair loss. Some people love Mane and Tail shampoo and conditioner, because it makes their hair look and feel fuller and thicker. Your hairdresser may have some suggestions about hair care products that help you with your hair loss.

Herbal Remedies

Some people believe that the best hair loss product is an herbal remedy. There are a number of herbal lotions and potions as well as nutritional supplements specially formulated to treat hair loss. An herbalist may be able to recommend the best products for your particular type of hair loss.

Here are a few herbal remedies that seem to help:

§ Ginko biloba § Green tea § A Chinese herb called "he shou wu" § Pygeum § Aloe vera § Saw palmetto § Stinging nettle

Some of these are taken in pill form and some are made into preparations that you rub onto your scalp. Some (like, for instance, stinging nettles) can cause a reaction, so use all herbal preparations with care.

Minoxidil (Rogain®)

A lot of people consider that this is the best hair loss product. It's available without a prescription at any pharmacy, and it works for a lot of people. Minoxidil helps both men and women to grow more hair. Remember, though, that as soon as you quit taking minoxidil, your hair will start to fall out again.

Prescription Medications

A prescription medication, such as Propecia, could be the ideal hair loss product for you. You need to see the doctor to get it, but that's a good thing, because she will conduct a check-up to see if there is some underlying cause to your hair loss that can be taken care of permanently.

Wigs, Rugs and Weaves

It could turn to be that the best hair loss product for you is a cover up of some kind. This is especially true when the hair loss is temporary, such as when your hair falls out while undergoing chemotherapy. There are a lot of options available to you to treat hair loss, but only you can decide which is the best hair loss product for you. Test a few things, and when you find something that works for you, stick with it. It may not work for everybody, but the important thing here is that you will have found the best hair loss product for you.

Propecia Breaks All the Barriers that Cause Hair Loss

Male pattern hair loss i.e. a receding hair line or slow balding at the crown, is the most common problems of hair loss. It is typically a continuation process and if neglected, the hair loss is likely to continue. Well it's true that hair loss may be a family problem. But researchers believe that it is due to a chemical called dihydrotestosterone or just DHT in short, is the main cause of male pattern hair loss.

In this circumstance, Propecia has shown some outstanding promise.

Due to the increase in DHT, the hair follicles on the head shrink and causes hair fall and if somehow this DHT is decreased, there can be complete halt for further hair loss. FDA trials proved that 2 out of 3 men tested with Propecia regrew hair and the third one hasn't experienced any further hair loss.

Propecia is a suitable remedy for treating mild and moderate hair loss. It not only slows down hair loss but improves hair growth as well. Most important of all, it works only on scalp and doesn't affect the hairs on the other parts of the body. Though the results may vary for each individual, but normally, one may begin to see improvement within 3 months of its usage. Before taking the medicine inform you doctor if you are suffering from liver disease. For, in that case you may not be allowed to take Propecia, or you may be prescribed a lower dose. However, mild side affects like decreased libido, stomach upset, swelling of your lips and tongue may affect your health in the beginning of the course, but tends to cease as the body gets used to it. Propecia is for the treatment of male pattern hair loss in men only and should not be used by women or children.

Hair Loss Gets In The Way Of Having Picture-Perfect Tresses

Much has been said about hair being a person's crowning glory. You've probably noticed how every single shampoo and conditioner commercial emphasizes (and most of the time, over-emphasizes) the need to have long and silky tresses (for the women) and healthy and fuzz-free hair (for the gentlemen). In the metro, there's also a burgeoning of parlors and salons offering a variety of hair care services to cater to the hair whims of every customer. But the reality is that, not everyone is blessed with picture-perfect mane.

Men and women have to deal with hair woes such as dry and oily hair, dandruff, split ends, and hair loss.

Since premature loss of hair is hereditary, some people have to face the brutal fact that they would be bald sooner, not later, than they expect. It's an amazing thing to know that several kinds of hair loss treatment are now up for grabs in the market.

According to experts in the field of hair care, women should note that men are not the only ones who have the tendency to experience and suffer hair loss condition. It only seems men are more prone to having partial or complete balding but this doesn't mean women are safe. If a person is starting to notice excessive hair fall and bald spots, he or she should immediately consult his or her doctor.

Although a person doesn't have any history of premature loss of hair in the family, he or she can get bald as a side effect of a particular drug. Aside from medication and genes, one can experience premature loss of hair because of an existing disease or illness such as cancer. Nowadays, hair loss treatments may come in the form of pomade or surgical enhancement. He or she can choose among different brands or methods according to his or her budget and preference.

How do surgical or non-surgical treatments actually fight a person's biological tendency to lose excessive amount or hair? Manufacturers behind most kinds of hair loss treatment like growth stimulators, super oxide dismutase and anti-antrogens explain that these services or products generally stimulate hair follicles to ensure production of healthier and stronger hair strands. But the more effective treatment is DHT inhibitors which prevent 5-Alpha Reductase and testosterone from teaming up and thus, resulting in noticeably less hair fall. Though hair loss is an inevitable reality for some, one can do something to prevent and fight it.

Hair Loss- Are You Suffering From Alopecia Aerata?

air loss is a common problem. But most of the people who suffer hair loss never understand why their hair is falling. It is a mystery for most of us. Because of not understanding, we try many therapies including different diets and natural formulations. But most of the times, we find no improvement. That is very disappointing and we accept the fact of hair loss and stop trying. This need not be done. Once we understand all the possible reasons of hair loss, we can surely find out what is happening to us and take an informed decision. Alopecia aerata is one of common causes of hair loss. Let us find out about that.

Hair loss- what is alopecia aerata?

Alopecia aerata is an autoimmune disease. In this disease the body attacks the hair follicles and kills them. The body begins to think that hair follicles are foreign objects and wants to remove them. Why it does that is a mystery. Hair loss pattern in alopecia aerata

You may begin losing hair in coin size patches. Sometimes the loss will stop after a patch or two and re-grow there after some months. Sometimes the loss continues and you may lose all the hair. This hair may come back after some months. No body can predict about how you will lose hair and when you will get it again. If you have a family member who suffers from a autoimmune disease such as Atopic dermatitis, hay fever etc. your probability of getting alopecia aerata increases. There is no way to stop this hair loss. Only treatment can be done to get the hair back sooner.

Medication to help Reduce Hair Loss

The Food and Drug Administration (the FDA) has issued two drugs that are suitable for helping to slow down and even prevent hair loss. Medication is an easy and safe way to help reduce hair loss and is a good alternative to the other options available. The two medications that have been proven to help prevent or slow down balding are Finasteride and Minoxidil (also advertised and best known as Rogaine).

Finasteride can help to reduce balding and even help grow more hair. It takes anywhere from two to four months to show results but must be constantly used for results. After usage of this drug is stopped, you will begin to lose your hair around one year after final treatment.

Rogaine is very popular and has been advertised extensively over the past few years, but the fact of the matter is that only 1 in 4 men who try Rogaine will find success. The regular Rogaine product is just for men, but there is a Rogaine for Woman which can also be used to help slow down or even stop balding. This product can be applied as a cream to the areas where hair is lacking and it will begin to work very quickly. Unfortunately, when you stop using Rogaine, you will begin to lose your hair again within just a few days.

Rogaine only works while it is being used unalike Finasteride where you do not begin to lose hair until around one year after last usage. There are some side affects of using Rogaine such as chest pains, weight gain, fainting as well as others, but they are rare.

If you are going to use medication to help reduce hair loss, I suggest using the ones above which have been shown to work with a low risk if side affects.

Tips to help Reduce or even Avoid Hair Loss

If you are worried about losing your hair in the future there are a number of things that you can do to help slow down or even completely prevent hair loss. In most cases, hair loss may be unavoidable but using the following tips can prove to be very helpful in dealing with hair loss.

Home Remedies

I'm pretty sure some of them can be disregarded -- like rubbing cow manure on your head -- but some of them probably do help some people. Here are a few of the more promising home remedies for hair loss:

To help postpone hair loss, you should take care of your hair from a very young age. Be sure to keep it clean and rinse it thoroughly frequently. Head massages from time to time that help prevent hair loss are also good ways to take care of your hair. (ex. Champissage (the Indian head massage)) Finally, be sure to shampoo and condition your hair on a frequent basis. You should also try and avoid using a lot of chemicals in your hair, there are many natural alternatives that you can use instead.

You should also maintain a healthy diet to help avoid any nutritional problems that may help increase or in speeding hair loss. Also, you should try to avoid high doses of Vitamin A in your diet and try to add more protein rich foods which contain Sulphur. Protecting your hair from the damaging rays of the sun by simply sitting in the shade and wearing a hat, especially in the summer months, can help setback hair loss as well. Finally, you should try and avoid pulling your hair extensively and do not use hair styles such as corn rows or pony tails that pull your hair. Hair loss can be a major problem and is something that many people want to avoid at all costs. It may be inevitable but if you follow the techniques mentioned above, you may be able to postpone hair loss for years or even decades.
