What is it?
Saw Palmetto is an herbal oil extract from the berries of the plant called a Saw Palm. Researchers are still working to fully understand the beneficial effects of this herbal extract. What is known is that the fatty acids are purported to be responsible for testosterone-inhibiting effects within the prostate.
What does it do?
Put simply Saw Palmetto opposes the actions of testosterone. This is significant since testosterone levels have been directly linked to several health conditions including hair loss. Proponents of Saw Palmetto claim that it balances hormonal activity restoring whatever damage may have been caused by an imbalance.
Will it help my hair loss?
Since we also know that hair loss is closely related to testosterone activity, it is very often recommended that any Hair Loss Treatment Plan include a DHT blocker and Saw Palmetto as an herbal supplement. Today it is the active ingredient found in the majority of all natural hair loss treatments.

Female Hair Loss
What Causes Female Hair Loss? by Raj Pandey
While there are many culprits to blame balding on,there are several key factors to examine when determining the reason for a woman's loss of hair. Stress, pregnancy, medications, hormonal problems, and thyroid disease are some of the most common causes of female hair loss. Have you been under a lot of stress lately? Are you pregnant or taking medications? Is your hair loss minimal or excessive? In order to find a solution to your hair loss problem, you have to ask yourself these questions. Your family physician may be able to target the cause and find an easy solution for you.
Nevertheless, hair-loss and balding can and should be taken as a serious warning.
Your body has a way of telling you when something is wrong. This is not to say that all hair-loss experiences determine that you're ill. You may be perfectly healthy. You should consult your family physician and go for any necessary tests and/or procedures that he/she may recommend.
Did you know that hormonal imbalances can be the cause of your hair loss? This is very correctible with medications and/or estrogen shots. Your hair-loss is very likely to stop once the problem is treated. Women's thyroid glands, that are overactive or underactive, commonly 'warn' the body of possible thyroid disease. The body will shed hair as a result of this 'warning.' Since hair loss has been noted as a an early sign of many diseases, it's important to find the cause so doctors can find a solution.
Many women experience hair loss approximately two or three 3 months after they've delivered their babies. This loss form of hair-loss is directly related to hormones. During a woman's pregnancy, high levels of specific hormones can cause the female body to retain hair that (under normal circumstances) would normally fall out. When a pregnant woman's hormones return to pre-pregnancy hormone levels, that retained hair falls out. Although it may seem odd, it's usually nothing to worry about, as the hair will grow back in a short period of time.
The most common cause of hair-loss in teenage women is stress. Nevertheless, stress is not the only cause. Hair loss in young women can also be a warning sign of the following: Infection, poor hygiene habits, excessive dye in hair, medication intake, lupus, and or diabetes.
Improper Care of Hair
Tight pony-tails, pigtails, braids, cornrows, and curlers can cause a type of her loss known as Alopecia. If scarring occurs on the delicate skin on your scalp, your hair may never grow back. Scarring, unfortunately, results in permanent hair loss. How does this 'scarring' occur, you may ask. Hot oil treatment, chemicals for perms, bleach, and metallic dyes may cause inflammation to the hair follicles on your scalp. These inflammations, which first appear as swelling, often turn into scars. The final result can be hair-loss.

Male Hair Loss by Jen Carter
Hair loss is more common among men than it is women. Studies show that most male baldness occurs by an increased sensitivity to androgens (male sex hormones). As a result of this sensitivity, hair loss occurs. This can be passed down through genetics. Don't get depressed! Nowadays bald men are very fashionable. Clean-shaven heads fill billboards, magazine advertisements, and commercial air-time. Women are attracted to smooth men. Baldness, which was once frowned upon and thought to be undesirable, is now very stylish!
Well, your androgens (which circulate in your blood) cause your hair follicles to shrink. Eventually, these follicles become so small that hair can not grow through them. Although the hair follicles are still alive, they can not perform their function. Hence, hair growth stops.
Young men in their twenties and thirties can become devastated at the first signs of male hair loss. Generally there's a typical pattern that occurs gradually. First, the hair line recedes, secondly the hair on the top of the crown begins to gradually thin. Eventually these 'thinning' areas will become bald. Finally, the bald areas will meet and form a U-shape on the crown. The hair that remains will be found on the sides of the head and it is often finer than it used to be.
The question arises, can hair-loss be prevented? Unfortunately for men, hair loss is genetically pre-determined. Baldness can be passed on from your parents and/or grandparents. Although a physician may be able to provide different medical treatments, you must be careful of the side effects. Side effects differ for each person. While some men may experience little to no side effects, others may experience a drastic change in their appearance and sexual drive.
Remember, baldness is a natural act. It is not a disease or disorder. You must realize that the re-growth of lost hair is very unnatural and can end up being very costly. You may or may not be happy with the final results. Raj Pandey, the creator of the Inhairit hair loss treatment, may have a solution that fits for you.

As you are quite aware hair loss is quite normal. Often as some hairs fall out, others replace it. Sometimes this can however due to a few conditions. Factors like hormonal changes, stress, poor diet, emotional TRAMA are just to name a few. As men and women age, their hair begins to thin a little bit. The thyroid gland can cause hair loss too. ALOPECIA can be developed due to infection of the scalp. Diabetes, poor digestion, along with different mineral and vitamin can cause problems.
When it comes down to certain options in hair loss, some consumers are looking to hair surgery in the form of hair transplants to get back what they lost. This is definitely one option. What you really need to do is find the best surgeon. Most hair transplant surgery has a governing body, where the physician is qualified and has performed many successful procedures. Many patients have the capability of receiving the most advanced procedures that can give you the results that you want. Consumers get this type of surgery often to fill in thinning areas like the crown and temples. Choosing to undergo a procedure like takes a lot of research and comfort.
Hair thinning saw palmetto products offer a natural alternative to conventional drug treatments for hair loss. Many people who are experiencing the symptoms of losing their hair, such as a receding hairline and shorter, thinner hairs, do not like the thought of applying a powerful chemical shampoo to their scalp for any length of time. Although medicated thinning hair shampoos can be effective in some people, like all drugs they can have side effects. Nontoxic hair care products made from saw palmetto oil offer a drug free hair loss treatment.
Excess levels of DHT cause thinner and shorter hairs to grow, instead of thick, healthy ones. Saw palmetto aims to balance out levels of this hormone to help in stopping hair loss. It is often used in conjunction with other natural hair loss treatments. For instance, a blend of essential oils of thyme, rosemary, Lavender and in a carrier oil can be massaged onto the scalp to encourage thicker hair growth. Dietary supplements, including vitamin B5 and folic acid, can also be taken to help with thinning hair.

Lossing hair is a part of life that most people do not look forward to. If you have bald family members, you may be especially nervous about waking up one morning to find you pillow covered with hair, or your hair brush with more hairs than your head. If this sounds like something that you worry about, then you might want to learn some hair loss prevention tips.
Is it effective?
It depends on who you talk too. Consensus in the medical community is positive but reserved. They want to see more comprehensive clinical trials done but also admit that with a Doctors guidance for most people it will not harm people to try it. For many decades in Europe and Asia it is considered the herb of choice for treating BPH Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia or enlarged prostate in men. Many report very positive results.
1- One widely held belief is that the over use of chemicals on the hair can cause hair thinning and eventually hair loss. If you like to enhance the look of your hair through chemical means, but are nervous about future hair loss, it is a good idea to only have this type of work done by a licensed beautitian. Many do-it-yourselfers are too inexperienced to properly perform chemical treatments to their hair, having a tendacncy to over apply the products. If you do color your hair, it is thought best to keep the frequency to a six or eight week minimum.
2- It is important to eat healthy foods and ensure that your body is getting the vitamins and minerals that it needs. Often times the body will show poor health in the hair follicles and finger nails before and actual illness is detected. While it is important to get enough of the right nutrients, it is just as important not to get too much of any one type of vitamin. For example, too much of vitamins A and E, have been linked to hair loss.
3- When and if an illness is detected, it is important to take care of your health needs. If the doctor has prescribed medications, take it. Failure to follow the doctors advise will cause your body to work harder just to stay alive, it won't have enough energey to keep the hair follicles growing and will eventually lead to hair loss. This is an excellent form of hair loss prevention.
4- The style that you wear your hair can also be a hair loss prevention opportunity. When ever possible, avoid pulling hair into styles that require it to be pulled tight and bound with elastic for long periods of time. While hair accessories have become much more hair friendly during recent years, hairstyle such as tight ponytail, pig tails and cornrows can still do damage to the hair shaft and ultimately to the hair follicle.
5- A way to pamper yourself doubles as a hair loss prevention idea. Using satin or silk pillowcases, is thought to prevent hair loss due to the fact that a silk or satin pillowcase will cause less friction while sleeping than a cotton or flannel pillowcase. This is because the head and the hair slide across the pillow instead of needing to be forcefully pushed across.
6- There is a whole group of old wives's tales that relate to hair loss prevention. These tips definatly won't hurt to try, but really don't do anything to combat the issue of hair loss. For instance, it has been said that standing upside down will increase blood flow to the head and that massaging the scalp or briskly brushing the hair will make the hair stay put and not fall out. This is simply not the case.
7- It is important to remember that even in a healthy person, it is completely normal to lose between 50 and 100 hairs from the head every day. If you feel that your hair loss issues are beyond that norm, speak with your doctor or dermatologist about your concerns. They will be able to determine if the hair loss is due to a medical or age issue, and point you in the right treatment direction.
