Wear Sunglasses to Prevent Cancer

Did you ever think that the sun could be cancerous? Not just for your skin, but for your eyes as well. There have been several scientific studies that are concluding that if you are out in the sun for too long without sunglasses, you may be at risk of developing cancer. Without sunglasses, the sun beating in your eyes will serve you at risk for getting cataracts in your eyes, different growths on the eye, and what they refer to as "macular degeneration."

Breast Cancer Statistics

After performing these studies, ophthalmologists encourage recommend that you wear 95% or more Ultra Violet absorbent eyewear when you are out having your fun in the sun.

Usually the sun sends off Ultra Violet Radiation in the summer three times stronger than it does in the winter! Always make sure that you wear sunglasses even if you are having fun in the pool (or any other body of water).

Though summertime calls for the most attention when it comes to wearing sunglasses, if you are playing sports outside in sunny weather even during the wintertime, it is still recommended to wear your sunglasses.

Did you know that every single pair of sunglasses sold must be approved by the FDA? It's true! If you are going from a regular day to day sunny schedule, the medium shaded lens is perfect. You may want to make it on your list to purchase some darker shaded sunglasses though, just incase it is extra bright and sunny.

Sunglasses are in style, so you shouldn't have a problem or feel embarrassed to wear them. Do yourself a favor and go get yourself a cool pair! You are decreasing your risk of developing cancer by doing so! Not only will you look and feel great, but your eyes will thank you in the end!

www.the5yearjournal.com info@the5yearjournal.com "There it is again." I muttered to myself, frustrated as I washed my arm.

Every morning for five or six days in the fall of 2003, I noticed rust-colored sticky stuff appearing on my left forearm and thigh. Finally, to my shock and horror, I discovered that the rust-colored sticky stuff was easily dripping from my left nipple. In disbelief, I collapsed into my bedroom chair, swirling with a mix of grief and fear. I stared at the blank white wall, feeling vacant, distant, disconnected from what I´d just seen. I called my doctor and was told this was not an emergency, but did need immediate attention. It could be cancer.

After an exam, the breast cancer specialist made an appointment for a mammogram and ultrasound. They took two sets of two x-rays on each breast and a third x-ray of a specific area of my right breast. In the ultrasound I could see the area of my right breast where they'd done the extra mammogram. There was a dark mass. After the biopsy on my right breast, I was diagnosed with infiltrating ductile carcinoma, a rare, aggressive, deadly cancer that metastasize to the bones and lungs. Next is death. I had symptoms of both bone and lung cancer.

Even before these diagnoses, I had already decided that I didn't want surgery. In my heart, I really didn't believe I would live through a surgery. I preferred an alternative approach. I wanted a fix, not just a partial solution. I chose Mye-Cell treatments in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and worked with Dr. Melenie Dunn, NMD in Scottsdale, AZ, 480.556.6700. I am now cancer-free.

I have the confirmed belief that each of life's moments hold a purpose and a gift. I don't always remember to live by these beliefs, but I do always come back to them. I knew that this particular experience with cancer was about trust. It was about my ability to trust in myself and in God. The lesson was about realizing, knowing with every breath and every beat of my heart, that I Am Blessed. We All Are.

Walk to beat breast cancer

WOMEN with breast cancer who walk at least an hour a week have a better chance of beating the disease than those who don't exercise at all, researchers said. "It is well established that exercise plays an important role in preventing many diseases, including breast cancer," said lead researcher Michelle Holmes of Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

The ultrasound of my left breast showed a trail of little beads, masses from my underarm to my nipple. "This couldn't be good," I thought. These masses rubbed against the ducts, causing bleeding and discharge. That was the rust-colored sticky stuff. My left breast was diagnosed with a rare duct disease. My oncologist felt that I also had cancer in this breast. She was deeply concerned, and wanted to immediately remove the mass in my right breast and cut off 1/3 or more of my left breast.

"However, we found that women who are physically active after breast cancer diagnosis may lower their risk of death from breast cancer and cancer recurrence." Even walking an hour a week lifted survival rates but exercising more than five hours a week did not confer any added survival benefit. The study noted discouraging estimates that women with breast cancer tend to decrease their levels of physical activity by two hours a week and those whoa re obese reduce activity even more.

Breast cancer for beginners

Introduction Because of the social changes, which has brought increased number of workingwoman and hence delayed childbearing, there has been a steep rise in the number of breast cancer patients in the last few decades. But as the incidence of the patients has risen so has raised the modality of treatments and the success rates. Also scientists have devised methods by which the cancer can be detected in an early stage and it has been convincingly proved that early detection and treatment bears a better prognosis than the later stage.

Myths There are many myths attached to breast cancer. Some think that any lump in breast is a breast cancer but to the contrary most of them are benign. Similarly it was a popular belief earlier that breast-feeding decreases one's risk of the cancer but that has been now found to be untrue. Some say that mammography makes the breast cancer widespread but it's not true. Similarly there are many other myths, which need to be cleared in mind of the general mass for the proper detection and management of the tumor.

Early detection Breast cancer can be detected in an early stage if women are taught to self-examine their breast. In case of detection of any breast lump or of any slightest suspicion, mammography should be done to rule out any tumor. Mammography is a good tool to diagnose this type of cancer.

Statistics The incidence of breast cancer is increasing at an alarming rate. It is said that every 2-3 minutes one American woman is diagnosed a breast cancer. Cause Although the cause is not fully understood but it is hypothesized that there are various factors such as genetic and environmental. The environmental factors are increased age, obesity, smoking and having the first child at late age.

Diagnosis The findings that denote a cancer are single, non-tender and firm to hard mass with ill-defined margins. This can be later confirmed by mammography and biopsy. After the cancer has been diagnosed staging is done to find out the best treatment option as well as the prognosis.

Management The management of breast cancer rests basically on two things. The first is the treatment and second is the counseling. The treatment can further be divided into three: medical, radiation, and surgery. The medical treatment consists of drugs such as tamoxifen, which is an anti estrogen, aromatase inhibitors such as aminoglutethimide and monoclonal antibodies such as trastuzumab. But similar to other drugs they have their own side effects profile.

The side effects associated with tamoxifen are increased vaginal bleeding, endometrial cancer and cataracts. The aromatase inhibitors have the side effects of leg cramps, jaundice and weight gain while the monoclonal antibodies may cause sterility or certain birth abnormalities. Generally the radiation and surgery are the modalities, which are needed for the treatment to ward off the body of the cancerous growth.

Counseling This is one of the most important parts of the treatment both before and after the surgery. The patients are to be taught that this is only another disease, which has treatment available, and persons can lead a normal life after that.

Latest research Latest research is being done on both the surgery and the medicine. For the surgery, surgeons are trying to find out the best way of surgery so that post surgery the patients have minimal disabilities. Similar medicines with lesser side effects are being researched.

Self Hypnosis CD - Cancel Cancer CD Series

Any ailment or illness, no matter how major, can have a psychological element to it. Even the word 'cancer' is enough to give someone a feeling of anxiety which is in itself enough to prove the body and mind have an instant connection. In fact the body and mind and are not two separate entities. The body and mind are one, it is only for the sake of simplicity of understanding that we have labelled and thought of them as two separate parts.

If you accept that the mind and body can have a profound effect on each other then you will also be able to accept that if the body ails, then the mind has played a part in that ailing and can also play an important part in the body's healing. With this in mind the Cancel Cancer cds series were produced to help the mind release any part it has played in the origination of the cancer and also to have a positive effect on the body's defence and immune systems.

One particular letter that Duncan McColl, author of the Cancel Cancer series has received says "Thank you for being the first person to allow me the dignity of discovering the healing resources within myself"

NOTE: Any use of the Cancel Cancer Self Hypnosis Cds should be considered as an extra option to conventional medical treatment and not as a substitute.

Mesothelioma Cancer Diagnosed- Dealing With Emotions

People deal with and react to having cancer in different ways. There really isn't a right or wrong way to behave or feel regarding this disease and it is easily forgotten that partners, family and friends will need support as well. Initial response, not only from the patient, is often disbelief..."There must be a mistake! The test results must be wrong!", followed by questions on cures, care and 'anything that you can do for me' issues. Shock sets in. Naturally the patient will be afraid and unsure about his future. Though they may not show these reactions outwardly, they almost certainly will be thinking about them. Don't assume that just because they appear 'brave' on the outside that they are 'taking it well'.

Previous studies have shown that many places which long winter like Canada and North America men do not adsorb Vitamin D and others nutrients. In Canada men do not adsorb vitamin D in consequence one of the seven can develop prostate cancer in their lives; USA new researches indicate that one of the five men can develop prostate cancer. Researchers shown that vitamin D has many micronutrients promote and prevent the prostate cancer in men.

Some patients will find it easier to talk with family and friends about their future than others do. Doing this may help the patient themselves come to terms with the diagnosis. Conversely, there are those that find it difficult to talk about it to anyone. It that is the case then let them be. The patient has the right to be firm on the issue, in the short term anyway. On the other side of the coin, friends and relatives may appear to be denying the diagnosis, changing the subject and playing down the patient's worries and anxiety during conversations. Perhaps its a coping mechanism for some people. Nevertheless, the patient should confront them about these responses; they may be hurtful and it isn't going to help the patient if he/she wishes to discuss the matter.

Anger will almost certainly show itself in one way or another. Often anger is aimed at those closest to the patient and the medical staff treating them. Patients shold not feel guilty about being angry and irritable. It is aimed at the illness and not others. It might be difficult, but the patient could explain this to them, or show them relevant leaflets. If the patient believes that your mesothelioma was caused by an employer and exposure to asbestos, they may feel resentment towards them. They could contact and or join a group that has been set up to deal with such issues. The patient may feel some relief through this strategy and there may even be some legal claim to be instigated.

Some patients may want to be left alone for a period to 'sort themselves out' but friends and relatives may find this a difficult period as they naturally want to help. The patient could reassure them that they will discuss the issues when they are ready.

Strong emotions are to be expected and dealt with. For both patient, friends and relatives.

Prostate cancer sun and vitamin D

Cancer Centres in USA compared the lifetime sun exposure in men with advanced prostate cancer and men without disease and they suggest that men who had spent more time in the sun they lives were with low risk of prostate cancer. New studies in prostate cancer indicate that the men who spent more time in the sun in their live usually can reduce prostate cancer in about 50% About the above point shown that the prostate uses Vitamin D to promote the normal growth of prostate cells and in consequence to slow the spread of prostate cancer cells to others parts of the body. Sun exposure prevent prostate cancer and the new research suggest vitamin D in supplement may be a safer option today for men.
