The symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis affect each person differently but in general have the same affects. Rheumatoid arthritis is a symmetrical pattern disease, which means that if one side of the body if affected, the other side is affected at the same time as well. Joint tenderness, swelling and stiffness can last for more then an hour after a long rest period and in the mornings as well, in some cases, rheumatoid arthritis symptoms can last for an extended period. Malaise is the most common symptom of this disease; it is a general feeling of fatigue and can have a persistent fever with an overall sense of not feeling well.

These two types of arthritis as well as many others all will have different risk factors, different causes and the way they affect the body. However, all types of arthritis have a shared common symptom and that is persistent joint pain.

 

Many people tend to believe that if you do not stress over it, keep your mind busy and distracted it would be easier to cope with. Overdoing any physical activity or even staying still for to long will cause a reaction within the joints and the tissues and make it much harder to handle the arthritis pain, taking it easy and exercising lightly help to control the pain and keep it to a minimal.

 

The Pains of Arthritis

Arthritis can appear in more than one joint and for the most part will show up as wrist pain, hand pain, hip pain, knee pain and various other areas of the body. Arthritis symptoms include stiffness, inflammation and joint pain. A few signs of the onset of arthritis could include a stiffness, swelling or pain in the joints. Arthritis, Pain Relief And Soft Drinks

 

Because arthritis is so widespread now, it gets a lot of attention from all of us - from the average person to the health professional. Some experts believe that arthritis was first introduced by a strain of virus some two centuries ago. But then, other experts have found conclusive evidence of arthritis in ancient Egyptian mummies. But whether it's two centuries or four millennia, arthritis does seem to be age-related. We are clearly more prone to have it the older we get. And we have therefore come to regard arthritis as a degenerative disease.

 

But that should by no means mean that arthritis is inevitable. "But why should we have to take natural hormone creams and supplements?" my clients often ask. "Our ancestors didn't take them, and arthritis wasn't nearly as prevalent in times past." The simple fact is, most of our ancestors didn't live to the ripe, old, healthy ages we do nowadays. They died younger and were worn out earlier - while we go on playing golf and tennis into our 70s and beyond. We live longer now, and want to enjoy ourselves more. So why suffer - unnecessarily - the aching joints and low energy of arthritis?

 

Sure arthritis is a fact, but we needn't resign ourselves to it. By being smart we can stay healthy. From my clientele and personal experience I've learned four easy ways to diminish or get rid of arthritis:

 

1. Soothex: It's a base of olive oil that's infused with anti-inflammatory herbs. Rub Soothex topically wherever you have pain and it takes the pain away, reduces swelling, and directly introduces healing oxygen to the joints and tissues. Soothex has no side effects... and you can use it as often as you wish.

But if you then take up drinking soft drinks as a regimen to keep your arthritis at bay, it will dissolve the calcium in your bones and put you on the fast track to osteoporosis. A losing proposition. Some recommend trying a six-pack over the course of a few hours, to see if your pain is reduced. If you try this, afterwards please stop with the soft drinks and take up with healthy, natural foods. This way the vitamins and minerals in your food will be well absorbed, and won't form deposits that congest your joints with the blockage and pain we call arthritis. For improved intestinal absorption of nutrients you should also drink kefir and / or take acidophilus.

 

Sure - arthritis is a degenerative disease, but it can be cured or dramatically reduced if you have the knowledge, persistence, and willingness to change your lifestyle. I've never quite understood why many of us seem unwilling to give up our suffering. It seems some just aren't ready for it yet. Are you?

Arthritis Pain Relief through Diet

 

There are many factors to consider when it comes to arthritis pain relief. An arthritic diet is certainly one such factor. However, the term arthritis covers over 100 different diseases and conditions and there are many arthritic diets that may affect individuals differently depending on the type of arthritis. It would be impossible to cover all of different types of arthritis in this article, but we will look at the most common arthritis conditions: rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and fibromyalgia.

 

It is well know that those who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis pain have an unusually low blood zinc level. Several independent studies have been conducted where rheumatoid arthritis patients have been given increased doses of zinc and showed marginal improvement, yet the tests were not extensive enough to be conclusive. Also, the effects of copper on rheumatoid arthritis have been studied for a long time, and although research studies vary, there seems to be some case for using copper to relieve suffering from rheumatoid arthritis.

 

While many medical experts dismiss copper therapy, it is suggested that if you do attempt copper therapy, that copper-rich foods are utilized instead of copper supplements, because copper supplements can cause side effects which include change in sense of taste and smell, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, abnormal blood clots, increased joint pain, chills, anemia and kidney problems. Furthermore, excess copper can cause cirrhosis of the liver in patients prone to Wilson's Disease.

 

If you have decided to use copper therapy as a way to combat rheumatoid arthritis pain, there is an extensive choice of foods you can enjoy in order to increase your copper intake: lamb, pork, pheasant quail, duck, goose, squid, salmon, liver, oysters, scallops, shrimp, lobster, clams, crab, tofu, nuts, and soy milk are just a few of the foods that are rich in copper.

 

As for foods to avoid when suffering with rheumatoid arthritis, many nutritionists and naturopaths suggest avoiding dairy products all together, as they seem to exacerbate rheumatoid arthritis flare-ups. Also, one should be discouraged from taking doses of vitamins that are higher than recommended without a physician's direction. Some vitamins and minerals can actually worsen certain conditions and the concentration that can be attained through vitamins can be dangerous. It is much better to approach any desired increase in vitamin or mineral intake through food therapy.

 

In terms of relieving pain for those who suffer from osteoarthritis there has been some success with the food supplements glucosamine and chondroitin. These supplements can be found in pharmacies and health food stores, however the purity of the products or the dose of the active ingredients cannot be specified because the FDA does not monitor these supplements. The National Institutes of Health is studying glucosamine and chondroitin, so more should be known about the effectiveness of these products for osteoarthritis in the near future. Patients with osteoarthritis taking blood-thinners should be careful taking chondroitin as it can increase the blood-thinning and cause excessive bleeding.

 

Another supplement that has shown to provide some relief to those who suffer from osteoarthritis pain is fish oil. Fish oil supplements have been shown to have some anti-inflammation properties and increasing the dietary fish intake and/or fish oil capsules (omega 3 capsules) can sometimes reduce inflammation of arthritis.

 

Finally, in the case of fibromyalgia, although clinical proof is once again sparse, there is some evidence to indicate that eliminating wheat, dairy, citrus, sugar, Aspertame, alcohol, caffeine, and tobacco seem to relieve pain associated with fibromyalgia. According to Dr. Joseph Mercola, author of "The Total Health Program," nine of ten sufferers of fibromyalgia are female, and 76% of those who followed suggested dietary rules experienced a significant reduction in pain. The thing to keep in mind with fibromyalgia is that, unlike the other common arthritis ailments, it is more of a syndrome than a disease, and much of it can be reversed. Making corrections to diet as well as reducing stress and getting plenty of rest can lead to a full recovery.

New Arthritis Treatment Promises Good Results.

Swelling in joints reduced from 10% till 3%, e.g. in 70% of cases!!!! 25% of patients marked disappearance of swelling in joints after12 weeks of the treatment. As early as after the first injection, 70% of the patients suffering pain in joints when pressed and 57% of the patients with join swelling pointed to the good results of the treatment.

 

One fourth of the patients marked the elimination of pain after 12 weeks of the treatment. Some further results of the Re-Act study showed further health improvement.

 

But the medicines are very costly. In Europe prescription of the medicines is under control and is in connection with the certain illness severity score. It is worth underlining once again that the preparations might have side actions and have to be prescribed by an experienced doctor.

 

Therapeutic effect of the basis medicines becomes apparent in 1-2 months, this of biologics - in several days (or weeks).

Exercise is very beneficial, but you must not do high impact exercise, as this can do more harm than good to your joints.

 

You may not consider everything you just read to be crucial information about Arthritis. But don't be surprised if you find yourself recalling and using this very information in the next few days.

 

There is another problem with Glucosamine capsules and that is from all reports, if you stop taking them, the pain and stiffness will return.

 

Glucosamine is excellent, but exercise is even better, usually when you exercise, you also lose some weight, this can improve the symptoms of Arthritis because your back and joints is being subjected to less strain.

 

Good quality food can help, plenty of fruit and fresh vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and beans, stay away from what is called junk food, the immune system is what controls all of your health, it is the system that you were given when you were born and medicine has not developed anything to compare with the way it performs. The important factor in the immune system, is that it must have a healthy natural nutrition to function efficiently, that means it must be fed correctly. If your immune system is functioning 100% efficiently, well you just would not have any health problems.

 

If you have any of these problems, Joints swelling, Stiffness in the morning that lasts for a while, Tenderness or pain in a joint, not able to move the joint properly, then you should consult with your normal physician, also you should consult with your physician before embarking on any exercise program, let the physician tell you what you can do, to improve your condition.
