Cookies And Allergies To Wheat Gluten

As we all know that most cookies are made from wheat flour but unfortunately there are some people that have formed allergies to wheat gluten, well now what is wheat gluten, according to Dr Harris Steinman wheat gluten is the elastic, rubbery protein present in wheat, rye, barley and to a lesser degree in oats. It binds the dough in foods such as bread and other baked goods. It contributes to spongy consistency. Rice and maize do not contain gluten.

water-soluble, salt-soluble, alcohol-soluble and alcohol-insoluble.

However, gluten is only one protein found in wheat, rye and barley. These foods, like all other foods, contain a number of discreet proteins that all can result in adverse reactions, including allergies.

Is it necessary to make cookies from only wheat flour, no it is not there are cookie recipes using rice flour which is gluten free and also maize starch, lupine flour alone or even the maize starch and lupine flour in combination.

If you are a person who has a allergy to peanuts do not use lupine flour because you will begin to itch and swell from it, there are a lot of different flours on the market today that you can in the making of your cookies and cookie recipes.

Ann Marie Krause has been making cookies for over 30 years, at persent I am retired, for over 23 years I owned a Gourmet Bakery called The Cheese Confectioner. You can visit my site at

The Link Between Snoring And Allergies Revealed

The noise that we all associate with snoring is a results of trying to force air through block or partially blocked airways. While it isn't an illness in itself, snoring is often a symptom of other conditions one of which could be an allergic reaction.

It's often set off by an allergic reaction to something that is inhaled.

Allergic rhinitis is a condition where the membrane lining the throat and nose becomes inflamed. You've probably heard of seasonal allergic rhinitis - it's more commonly known as hayfever.

When the lining becomes inflamed, it causes the airway to be blocked which can lead to snoring.

Hayfever is usually caused by trees, grass or other plant pollen and it's usually a problem in the spring and summer. If you suffer from it all year (known as perennial allergic rhinitis) it's often due to dust, dust mites, mould spores or pet fur.

The symptoms of allergic rhinitis are familiar to most people:

- itchy eyes and nose
- sneezing
- red, watery eyes
- runny or plugged nose
- headache
- and of course, snoring

If you haven't been able to figure out what's causing your hayfever, your doctor may give you a skin-prick test to determine exactly what is causing it. Even then, the cause is not always easy to determine so you may not be able to get rid of the cause.

In these cases, you'll probably turn to some type of allergy medication. The problem with these medications, as it related to snoring, is that many of them contain antihistamines.

Antihistamines are often effective at treating allergies, but they're also a depressant. As such, they can lead to the muscles in your throat and neck becoming more relaxed than normal while you sleep. When these muscles relax, it can lead to more severe snoring than normal.

If you're suffering from allergies and are snoring at night, it's best to avoid antihistamines before going to bed. If you need to use any medication, try to stick to a nasal decongestant, which can help your breathing while not contributing further to a snoring problem.

As with any health concerns, if you suspect you suffer from allergies or have a snoring problem you should always consult with a health care professional to get their informed opinion.

The Cure for Allergies

We now know that there are cures for many of the diseases that are considered to be non-curable. If you go to Europe or Asia – you will find many of these diseases being cured. We in the US are so pre-occupied with profit that we prefer treatment to cure. It brings in more money on a consistent basis. But, in spite of all that there are those that dare to challenge the establishment and offer to those who need it the cure for so many diseases.

Below is from Dr. Hulda Clark’s book “The Cure For All Diseases”. More information on Dr. Clark and her books can be found at: or

Allergies are due to a disabled liver, extreme allergies are due to an extremely disabled liver.

(For allergy in connection with arthritis, asthma, diabetes and migraine headaches, refer to the pertinent chapters.)

This is the case for persons suffering from "universal" allergies, namely "everything", like the lacquer on floors, plastic chairs, the neighbor's flowers, and the grocery store.

They have more than merely clogged bile ducts. They have the sheep liver fluke living in the bile ducts! A tip-off to this situation is allergy to wool and wool fat (lanolin). A few flukes might not be noticed but a liver full of flukes that spill over into the intestine can give the worst case of allergy imaginable.

Sometimes the body manages to kill them with its own resources (maybe you ate something even too toxic for them!) They come through the bowel in a torrent. In the water of the toilet bowl they explode, spewing their infectious eggs all over in little black threads. Because these look like hairs, you may believe you passed "things with black hairy legs". These are actually burst flukes with black strings of highly infectious eggs. Why some people are literally taken over by these flukes is unclear. Amongst sheep, only certain sheep will be severely affected, being called "liver-rot". The disease in animals has been extensively studied.

Kill flukes with a frequency generator (434-421 KHz) or zapper. Come to the aid of the liver by avoiding food molds, removing dental metals, stopping chronic Salmonella infection and finally cleaning the kidneys and liver.

Environmental Illness is another name for "universal" allergies. When more than a few flukes are present in the liver, they keep the liver from doing its major job: detoxifying all the food and chemicals that are taken into your body.

Different parts of the liver have different detoxifying jobs. One part detoxifies plastics and solvents, another part detoxifies perfumes and another newsprint ink, and so on. Foods have natural chemicals that need detoxification. By changing our food constantly we avoid overburdening any one of our detoxifying mechanisms. This is probably the basis for wanting different food at each meal and different meals each day. We somehow "know" when we're ready for the same food again. Less extreme forms of allergy can be due to other flukes in the liver, such as human liver fluke (Clonorchis), or just plain clogging with numerous cholesterol crystals.

Anything that is lodged in the bile ducts obstructs the flow of bile. This causes back pressure in that part of the liver so it produces less bile.

The bile duct system is a gigantic tree with lots of interconnecting branches. Remember how "stringy" liver can be when you buy it in the grocery store. These strings are bile ducts. When one is obstructed, others take over its job. But when a whole section of the liver gets obstructed and it can't detoxify a whole set of chemicals you dare not get those chemicals into you again.

What if you do? These chemicals go coursing all over your body! They are taken up by various organs. The brain has special protection, called the blood brain barrier. But this can get broken by parasites that burrow. Now chemicals can roam through the brain. Some attach themselves and cause an "allergic reaction". Beryllium from "coal oil", kerosene and gasoline attaches itself to the brain easily. Then other things attach themselves to the beryllium!

The extreme form of allergies simply requires killing the sheep liver fluke and other flukes inhabiting the liver. They tend to overflow the liver and inhabit the intestine, too. In this case, you might actually see some in the bowel movement after killing them. They won't let go of you as long as they are alive.

They have two attachments to hold onto you, yet, they are not difficult to kill, even with herbs. Use the herbal parasite recipe, zapper, or a frequency generator.

Sheep liver flukes might actually be breeding, that is, multiplying in the liver of the hyper-allergic person. This is not normal. Sheep liver flukes "should" only spend their adulthood in our bodies. When the baby stages are also found in our bodies (instead of in minnows or snails), there is undoubtedly a specific solvent involved. Environmentally ill persons have quite a few solvents accumulated in their organ tissues. Which one enables the sheep liver fluke to go through all of its development in the human is not known yet.

Obviously, the extremely allergic person should remove all solvents from their diet and environment. Begin with eliminating propyl alcohol and benzene. The same products have other solvents too. It is processing of foods that put solvents into them. Go completely natural. Dairy products are free of solvents, except for some cheeses. Remember to boil them to get rid of bacteria. Salt, olive oil, butter, and honey are free of solvents. With electronic technology, you can find solvent free products. Otherwise, if it didn't grow or you didn't make it from scratch, you must assume it has solvents! Cook from scratch; make your own pasta, bread, fruit juices, and beverages.

Often but not always, persons with sheep liver fluke have a specific allergy to lanolin, a sheep product. Since lanolin is so widely used in other products, this becomes a very broad range allergy. Such persons "can get no fat" at mealtimes or wear no wool without a considerable reaction. The allergy to lanolin does not disappear the day the flukes are all dead. But cleaning the liver with several liver cleanses after killing the parasites will start the recovery process.

Which comes first, the flukes or the solvents? That can't be answered. But what happens next is easily seen. The more flukes, the less able the liver is to detoxify solvents. The more solvents the better able the fluke is to multiply. A vicious cycle is set up that accelerates the illness.

Perhaps neither of these came first. Perhaps something else poisoned the liver so both solvents and flukes are given a home in your liver! Such a powerful liver poison would be a food mold: aflatoxin, cytochalasin B, sterigmatocystin, zearalenone, ochratoxin, sorghum mold, griseofulvin, citrinin, T-2 toxin, Kojic acid, ergot and others. Avoid food molds -- see Mold Free Diet. The diet must be quite limited at first, to allow the liver to "regain" its detoxifying capability.

Of course, it is assumed that environmentally ill persons have had their dental metal replaced by metal free composite. This includes gold. Gold accumulates in the pancreas, another organ of digestion. This may mean choosing partial dentures. Read the section on healing the jaw and Bone Strengthening to ensure this move brings you success.

The liver is a versatile organ. It can regenerate itself but it won't if food molds block regeneration. Given half a chance it will become like new. After killing parasites do the liver cleanse. If it has been a month or more since you killed parasites, then go on a high dose parasite herb treatment the week before, or zap. Don't use the herbs the day of the cleanse. With one major allergy gone after each cleanse and by timing liver cleanses two weeks apart, it takes only six months to have a reasonably normal life again. You can endure indoor air again, sit on plastic chairs, read newspapers, wear cotton clothing and leather shoes without reacting. You must still be patient and careful as you take back the world for you to live in.

Stop Candida and Yeast Infections and allergies

Candida Albicans is an infection caused by a species of the yeast Candida. Actually everyone needs some yeast to maintain their health. When yeast is in proper balance within your system it is often called "good flora". If yeast overgrows it is often referred to as Yeast Overgrowth or Candida.

What causes yeast to overgrow? One of the common causes is antibiotics. Antibiotics tend to kill even the good microorganisms within your system allowing an imbalance or "bad flora". Other causes are diets high in sugars, white flour based foods, grains, yeasty items such as beer and wine etc.

Candida has a wide variety of symptoms. It presents itself in so many ways that often times physicians never consider it as a possible problem. Some of the common symptoms are itching, white tongue, allergies, rashes, headaches, joint pains, fatigue, mental fog to name a few. People who have symptoms find them ongoing and non-responsive to many treatments.

How does one treat Candida Abilcans? First of all if you are taking antibiotics you must find an alternative so you can get off of the antibiotics. Secondly it is important to improve your diet. Do not believe anyone who says they can cure Candida without your need to change your diet. You may not need to go on an extremely rigid diet, but you must greatly reduce Candida causing foods.

You should also avoid YEAST and yeast containing products including Alcoholic and Baked goods, as well as: Mushrooms, cheeses with rinds, coffee, most teas, condiments containing vinegar (ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, salad dressing), fermented foods and drinks (cider, root beer), bottles or canned fruit juices, dried fruits, strawberries, melons, canned fruits, leftovers (older than 24 hours), malted products (barley malt, malted milk, cereals, candies), peanuts, pistachios, peanut oil, peanut butter, processed and/or smoked meats and smoked fish (beef jerky, corned beef, hot dogs, luncheon meats, pastrami, sausages), and pickled foods.

Finally a good probiotic is essential to help you regain the "good flora" balance to reclaim your health. Since Candida may have weakened your immune system a good immunity booster may also be helpful.

MSM Combats Seasonal Allergies And Hay Fever In A Big Way

Seasonal allergic rhinitis (SAR) affects more than 25 million Americans each year and current studies indicate the problem of seasonal allergies is on the rise.

Numerous clinical observations and case studies have led researchers to propose that methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) may help to significantly reduce the symptoms of SAR.

In a study conducted in 2002, fifty people with chronic SAR, completed a study. They consumed 2600 mg of MSM per day. As part of the study, respiratory symptoms, energy levels and immune and inflammatory reactions were measured. All of the participants noted remarkable improvement and tests performed on the individuals in the study measured and confirmed that the use of the supplement MSM had made a physically distinctive rectification of SAR symptoms.

The results of the study suggest that MSM supplementation of 2600 mg per day for 30 days may help reduce the symptoms of SAR; additionally few side effects are associated with the use of MSM.

(information obtained for this article was found in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine. Feb.2003, Vol. 9, No. 1: 15-16)

A PERSONAL NOTE: I have used MSM as a supplement regimen for 10 years. I have been a chronic hay fever sufferer all of my life, and I discovered that using MSM stopped the runny itchy eyes and scratchy throat during the hay fever season. I still sneeze but the more irritating side effects of hay fever have been chiefly eliminated.

Allergies and Your Eyes

The Problem With Allergies

Allergies can be triggered by many substances. Seasonal allergies (also called hayfever) are often caused by the grass, tree, and weed pollens that are abundant in spring and late summer. Other types of allergies can affect your eyes year-round. Allergy symptoms include sneezing, congestion, and red, watery, itchy eyes.

Why Allergies Occur

Your body's immune system protects you against illness by staying alert for harmful agents entering the body. If this occurs, the immune system protects you by neutralizing, removing, or destroying the harmful agent.

Allergies occur when the immune system misidentifies a normally harmless substance, such as pollen or mold, as a harmful agent. The body responds by producing more of certain chemicals to neutralize the substance. These chemicals, called histamines, are what caused the itchy, redness, swelling, and irritation you experience.

Many substances can trigger an allergic reaction. Most allergens that cause eye symptoms are airborne. Plant pollen, mold, dust, and animal dander (skin particles) are the allergens that most often affect the eyes.

Allergies can lead to a condition called allergic conjunctivitis. This is an inflammation of the conjunctiva (the membrane that covers the inside of the eyelid and the white part of the eye). It may occur at about the same time each year, when the allergen is most abundant

Relief for Irritated Eyes

Short of completely avoiding the allergens that cause your symptoms, it's impossible to escape your allergies. However, you can take steps to relieve your symptoms:

1. Try over-the-counter products such as antihistamine eyedrops to reduce redness, itchiness, and other symptoms. Artificial tears can also help by flushing allergens out of the eyes these products are available at drugstores.

2. When possible, limit your exposure to allergens. Stay inside when pollen or mold counts are especially high.

3. For cleaner indoor air, use air-conditioner filters that are designed to reduce allergens in the air.

4. Ask your health-care provider about other options. For example allergy shots may reduce symptoms and the need for other medication. Prescription medications may also be available.

This article is not intended as a substitute for professional medical care. Only your health-care professional can diagnose and treat a medical problem.

Just throwing in a little bit of a disclaimer there. This article is just to give you a bit of an overview in regards to allergies, if you think you may have allergies than please consult your physician.

Well as always….Thanks for stopping by, hope this has been helpful to you, And feel free to leave comments, or ask me questions.

Toy Dogs for Pet Owners with Allergies

People living in small, confined spaces like condominiums or apartments are attracted to toy dogs because of their size. Generally, toy dogs only increase up to 20 times their birth weight. Adult toy dogs only weigh between one and ten kilograms. They typically reach their adult weight and size in a period of eight months. But not all toy dogs are alike. Some are active and require a lot of exercise, some are barkers, some shed more than others and some are not good with other pets. A particular group of people that needs to consider these differences in toy dogs carefully are the allergy sufferers. An allergy should not stop anyone from enjoying the company of a pet dog.

For example, wheat protein comprises 4 main groups of proteins:

The major proteins in wheat-albumin, globulin, gliadin and glutenin (gluten)-vary in proportion according to the type of wheat.

There are no dogs that are "hypoallergenic". But there are breeds that considerably produce less dander, which causes the allergies in pet owners. Among toy dogs, the following breeds are particularly favorable for people with allergies:

The Chinese Crested is known as a hairless dog, but there are actually two varieties, the hairless and the powderpuff. The hairless variety is not completely bald but has hair on the top if its head, feet and tail. The powderpuff has hair that covers its entire body. The hairless is best for people with allergies, but even the powderpuff does not shed much. It also comes in a variety of colors. Its life span is 12 to 15 years, adult weight is 5 to 10 pounds and adult height is 11 to 13 inches.

The Italian Greyhound is a good choice because it is clean and odorless. It is a miniature of the greyhound and is affectionate and makes a good family dog. Its life span is 13 to 15 years, adult weight is 7 to 12 pounds and adult height is 13 to 15 inches.

The Maltese's coat of long, white hair resembles human hair. It requires good grooming, but does not shed much. It is a good family pet, but its size does not make it suitable for rough play. It is gentle and affectionate and is a good pet for the elderly. It makes a good watch dog as well. The Maltese's life span is 12 to 15 years, adult weight is 6 to 8 pounds and adult height is 6 to 8 inches.

The Shih Tzu has hair instead of fur thus making it good for owners with allergies. It is a small but sturdy dog and its gentle and affectionate nature makes it a good choice for children and the elderly. Its long coat requires daily grooming to avoid matting. Its life span ranges from 12 to 14 years, adult weight is 9 to 16 pounds and adult height is 8 to 11 inches.

The Toy Poodle does not shed much. It makes a good watch dog and is a lively companion. It is perfect for apartment or city-dwellers, but hates to be alone. It is an excellent pet for children and the elderly. Its life span is 10 to 14 years, adult weight is 6 to 9 pounds and grows up to 10 inches.
